Hello forum guys.

In the morning I received an email from the guys at PlaySounds.

They announced an expansion pack with voices and drums from Genos 2.

I think it could be useful for those of us who will keep our genos.

I leave you the information and link.

Greetings to all!

I hope that in the future they consider to sell their sounds also in SF2. I have a Yamaha CVP 809 (it can't import samples) but also a Korg Pa keyboard that supports SF2 instruments.

Edit: Three images removed from the quote by overover since they are in the post directly before anyway.

Yeah, it's kinda crazy to me that the previous PA's could import SF2 but the PA5x (all new chipset) can't; and it can't even import their old samples (which all previous Korg PA's were designed to do). I told our Korg rep, point blank, that 2 years after launch, we've yet to get a single expansion for PA5x, while Yamaha G2 launched 6 months ago (in Canada anyway) already has around 30 packs *designed for it* (ok, they're all ports except the DX7 pack) and access to all old ppf expansion packs.

His response was a sigh. But still no ETA on PA5x expansion packs!

Hi @sidhpura,

This is a paid pack, not a free one from Yamaha.

According to the manufacturer (PlaySounds Corporation), this pack is only available in protected CPF format. This means that when you buy the pack, you have to upload the Instrument Info file (.n27) of your instrument, and the pack will only work on this one instrument.

By the way, this "Ghenos 2" pack is intended for use with Genos1. According to the manufacturer, the pack is suitable for SX models, but not all of the contents can be used. I recommend contacting the pack manufacturer directly by email if you have any questions about this.

Best regards,
Chris
