Im back trying to get individual Genos tracks separated and recorded as their own midi  track in Logic

Its sort of working but involves a lot of monkeying around to get the one complete track of midi data separated into individual tracks in Logic and then playing back as their own distinct midi file.

Hoping someone has a simpler way of doing this than I have been doing.

My Montage is so easy to do this on. I realize they are very different beasts though

Help is much appreciated

The one includes all midi track can be separated by right clicking on the track and choosing separate by midi note. This however won't allow one to solo individual tracks for processing. When one individual track is soloed all tracks become highlighted.

Im suspecting its probably just one click somewhere to solve the issue but I"m still searching for it.

All DAWs have a feature where an imported MIDI file, with everything on just one track, can be instantly split into tracks for each individual MIDI track used in the recording, usually 1-16, but sometimes less.

I started many years ago with Logic, didn't like it and switched to Cubase so I can't tell you the name of the function. Cubase has used 'Explode' and 'Dissolve Part', both of which sound rather destructive, but aren't! :) All you would do is highlight the one imported track, use whatever the feature is called and you'll see all the individual tracks appear. At that point you could delete the original, but I make a habit of just muting it. That way I always have an original in the project to go back to if I should need to, without the need for importing it again.
It's not what you play, it's not how you play. It's the fact that you're playing that counts.

Yes Andy
in Logic  its a right click on the recorded midi track and selecting separate by midi channel
That will divide the track into separate tracks
However, each individual track then cannot be soloed to edit it. A click on the solo button selects all of the tracks. Muting does the same thing

There must be a way to do this but im still searching for it.

Maybe the following video is helpful. It's about importing a Genos2 MIDI file into Logic Pro. The video is in German, but you can activate English subtitles:

Wow. The video looks great. Will try when Im back in the studio and report back
Never seen any of this in manuals or other you tubes
Thanks Kurt

There are also three very detailed English videos by the same author on the topic of "Importing MIDI files into Logic Pro":

Part 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GzlzVgfIhFQ
Part 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tqTfTNGsGq4
Part 3: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0emcsTBMRhE

These videos are a bit older (from 2010) and the keyboard is the PSR-S550, but the basic procedure in Logic Pro probably hasn't changed much.
