Hello,

If anybody has an SX600, I would highly recommend getting the SX700 (and not SX900) internal styles and play them in you SX600, they sound excellent for the most part and you will have a very large selection at hand when combining them with the SX600 internal styles.

Hi Danny, that sounds very interesting!!

Tell me where I can get the internal styles of the SX700, for my SX600?

Is there somewhere to download them?

greetings

Hans

Can't you just download the SX900 style packs and throw out the ones mark with the (9) behind the style name?

https://www.psrtutorial.com/sty/yamaha/psr-sx900.html

Then just throw out the styles with the names you already have on your SX600 keyboard. ;)

No, those are the SX900 styles only and not the SX700 versions. The SX900 styles has the revo samples in the drums which dont work well in the SX600 whereas the SX700 versions use the same kits as the SX600 which is why they sound great in the SX600.

As for downloading SX700 internal styles I don't know where you can get them from.

Hello , I'm new here. I just got me a new SX600.  How do you get the SX700 styles, and how do you load them in your SX600 ?
I'm really a guitar player that likes to play around with Arranger Keyboards .

Welcome to the PSR Tutorial Forum, Tunefultom!

You can download the SX700 Preset Styles via the Google Drive link that Keyboard Master provided above. (This zip file originally came from me. ;) )

Unzip the downloaded zip file "sty SX700 Preset Styles (400).zip" on your computer and copy the unzipped folder "sty SX700 Preset Styles (400)" to a USB stick. It is important that the stick is formatted in FAT32 format.

If you are using a USB stick that you have not previously used on the keyboard, it is best to format it directly on the keyboard: "[MENU] > Menu2 > Utility > USB > Format". Please note that this will delete all data from the stick!

Then connect the USB stick to the SX600 and open the Style Selection display by pressing any STYLE category selection button (e.g. "Pop & Rock" or "Expansion/User" button). Then use the TAB buttons to select the "USB1" tab to view the contents of the USB stick.

Then navigate to the desired Style category folder on the USB stick (e.g. "Ballroom") and select the folder to open it. Now you can see the styles it contains. Select a style to load and play it.

Hope this helps!

Best regards,
Chris

Thanks, But I think the USB on the SX600 only works with WAV files .

Hi Tunefultom,

You are wrong here ...  ;)

Of course you can load/play Styles (as well as e g. Registration Bank files, Playlist files, MIDI files or Multi Pad Bank files files) from a USB stick (and also save files to a USB stick).

You only need to use the correct File Selection display. Do NOT use the USB Audio Player button because this would open the AUDIO File Selection display (where you cannot see e.g. Style files).

Please go through the steps I described above again, i.e. use the STYLE Selection display and go to the USB1 tab there.

Please also read the SX600 manuals (Owner's Manual, Reference Manual and Data List). If you don't have all these manuals yet, you can download them here:

Best regards,
Chris

I'm sure you know better then me LOL.  I did go to the link you said but I can't seem to download the styles. It just shows me sx700 styles when I click on it.
Like I said I'm new at this. I'll keep trying Thanks

Tunefultom

I think I got it downloaded !

Tunefultom

I downloaded the styles SX700 folder on my thumb drive and when I open it, it shows folders like Ballroom Dance and so on.  But when I plug it into my SX600 I don't know how to load it into the SX600 I've looked at the manual but I can't seem to find how to use it right. I'm sorry but I'm new to this and it's just hard for me to do .

Hi Tunefultom,

I already wrote this (how to load a Style from the USB stick) in my first post above:  ;)

Thank you so much for helping me, I did figure it out. Only I moved all the styles into one folder it works fine for me.  Now to see if I can play midi songs from the thumb drive or I might have to play from my laptop and use the SX600 as my sound module

Hi Tunefultom,

I'm glad it works now.

Of course you can also load and play MIDI Song files directly on the SX600. In Yamaha jargon a MIDI file is called a "Song". So press the "SONG FUNCTION" button on the SX600 to call up the Song Function Menu.

There use "Select" (press one of the "1" buttons) to call up the Song Selection display. Here you go to the "USB1" tab with the TAB buttons and can select (open) the desired folder on the USB stick, and select a MIDI file there to load it.

Use the SONG CONTROL "Play/Pause" button to play the loaded MIDI file.

By the way, please note that the maximum number of files/subfolders which can be saved in a folder is 500 on the SX600. If there are more files in a certain folder on the USB stick, the files may no longer be displayed on the SX600.

Best regards.

Thanks for the details on your setup, Tom!

In addition to my Yamaha keyboards (currently 2x Genos2, Genos1 and Tyros5-61) I have a few accordions (Hohner Morino V), and also a few guitars "lying around".  :)

All the best from Germany,
Chris

I tried to use the styles of the SX700 on the SX600, but in my experience you have to adjust far too many voices.
