Is there any way you can transfer files to the Genos 2 over Wireless like the Expension manager transfer packs over wireless?? It would be so useful??  Or bluetooth?

The easiest way is to use a USB stick or connect your keyboard to computer. Then you can drag and drop files you require.

Hi musicman100,

No, WLAN (Wi-Fi) cannot be used for normal file transfer, but only for installing Expansion packs as well as for Wireless MIDI IN/OUT (Port 1 only) and for Wireless Audio IN. The Bluetooth connection can only be used for Audio IN (instead of an AUX IN cable connection).

I recommend USB Storage Mode for file transfer between the computer and the Genos2 User drive. To do this, connect the USB-to-Host terminal to the computer via USB type "AB" cable and then start the Genos2 with the PLAYLIST button pressed.

Alternatively, you can use the Yamaha "MusicSoft Downloader" program (only available for Windows). With this program you can access the Genos2 User drive from your PC and also USB sticks connected to the keyboard. In this case, the keyboard does NOT need to be booted into USB Storage Mode.

Best regards,
Chris

Yes but is this day and age why you cant tranfer wirelessly is a shame really!!

I can do that between my computer and tablet using the browser. I am sure it would not be that difficult.

I know you can by an usb lead but not if your keyboard is to far away form the computer as mine is.

Alos I know you can use an usb key but thats another step which is a bit of a pain!!

Its just a shame that yamaha has not implemented it since it has wireless built in.

I remember the cvp 407 had the internet built in you could go to the yamaha web site and download packs but Yamaha killed that off. I dont why they did not develop that.
