Hi, can anybody help with my request, please? I play an SX700 and I've been trying to find "16BalladRock" which I believe should be in the "Pop&Rock" styles folder but isn't. Alternatively can anybody share or suggest a style for Careless Whisper, many thanks in advance.

Try to search for ,,16BalladRock" (or ,,16Ball") when in Styles screen.

Hi Dupe,

The SX700 has the styles "16BeatRock" and "16BeatBallad" (both in the "Pop & Rock" category), but no "16BalladRock" style.

Best regards,
Chris

Hi, Chris, thanks for your reply, I was listening to a song played on an SX700 on Utube, and the performer mentioned the style he was using. I'm certain my SX700 is missing some styles anyway, it was purchased as a used model.  I checked my styles folder and the search revealed no matches for "16BeatRock" and "16BeatBallad"  I've searched the Yamaha site, Forum styles, and found them listed, not had a chance yet to download them. I think the Utube performer incorrectly titled the style he used.
Thanks again Chris, for your help, and a Merry Xmas to you.
Regards Dupe

Have checked, and are not listed. For some unknown reason, I am missing some styles. My SX700 was not new when I purchased it.
Thanks for your reply.
Merry Xmas,  Regards Dupe

Thanks for your feedback, Dupe!

The styles "16BeatBallad" and "16BeatRock" must be present on your SX700 because Preset contents cannot be deleted or overwritten. Have you perhaps searched in the Registration Selection display? Of course you wouldn't find any Styles there.

Please go to the "Pop & Rock" Preset category in the Style Selection display, e.g. by pressing the "POP & ROCK" panel button. Note that the Preset styles are not displayed in alphabetical order there. Make sure you have actually looked at all pages there. (You can also use the Data Dial to scroll through all styles in the current folder.)

Best regards,
Chris

I'll take another look, Chris, I even searched the styles search window, and nothing showed up! Weird. I've since downloaded the style from the Yamaha site and saved it into my user.
Thanks again, for your help. Regards Dupe. :)

Hi Dupe,

I actually didn't mean the Style Search function, but the Style Selection display (see also the attached screenshot).

Make sure you're in the "Preset" tab and in the "Pop & Rock" folder, and go through all the pages (P1, P2, P3, ...).

Best regards,
Chris

Hi Chris, It's 16BalladRock I was after, and that's what I was searching for. But maybe the performer's style recommendation is wrong.
The style I am using at the moment was available from the Yamaha forum. I'm playing "Carless Whisper" (or trying to) but at the time I couldn't locate a style on my keyboard, by coincidence, I came across a Utube player, playing this number on an SX700. This is the link:-
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sxd9xS8m_j4    Listed in his information was the style he was using:-

(The Beat is 16BalladRock (In folder POP&ROCK)

Thanks again Chris for your help and comments. Regards Dupe

From what I can decipher on display in video, I'm pretty sure he's actually using 16BeatBallad style.

Hi Dupe,

The style name "16BalladRock" may simply be a "typo" in the description of this YT video.

As Bogdan also just found out, you can clearly see in the video that the style "16BeatBallad" is used. See also the attached screenshot.

And you will definitely find "16BeatBallad" if you go through the individual pages of the Style Selection display in Preset tab. All you need to do is change the tempo (70 by default) to around 80 and you're good to go. :)

Best regards,
Chris
