My Genos 2 arrives in a week. I really like brushes on soft rock or chill styles.
Wondering if I can  change a rock kit to a brush kit on a pop style?
Also can I bring down just the snare volume on a style?
Thanks from Vancouver

You can do it, watch this video on the old Genos, everything is the same on Genos2.

Hi --

I've converted about 15 or so G2 styles to G1. Just a few things to watch out for when substituting drum kits.

All drum kits assign individual drum instruments (e.g., Hi-hat, Kick) to MIDI note numbers. There are two common layouts: XG and Revo/Ambi. The Revo/Ambi kits make use of MIDI notes below note #22 differently than legacy XG drum kits. Compare a Revo/Ambi kit against Standard Kit, for example, to see the difference. The key maps are in the Data List PDFs.

So, if you substitute a legacy kit for Revo/Ambi, some drum sounds may not be heard. Thus, to keep things simple, substitute legacy for legacy and Revo/Ambi for Revo/Ambi. Fortunately, there are several brush kits to choose from.

BTW, there are two Ambi kits (Production and Dirty) that use even lower MIDI note numbers than Revo (for Kick). So, if you substitute Revo for Production or Dirty, the Kick may drop out.

Then there's the quick and practical method -- try it and see!  :D

Good luck and have fun -- pj
