Has anyone found that some of the drum sounds on Yamaha XG MIDI files are exceptionally loud?

Is is possible to change the drum set for a MIDI file on the Genos2 and save it?

I don't use any PC MIDI software, but perhaps this could be the answer?

I mainly play live, but do use a few MIDI files occasionally.

Thank you in anticipation...

Yes you can do this in song record. Load in your midi file and then select Multi recording and you will see a view of tracks and there voices being used Select Step record and select track 10 which is drum track Here you can change kit and adjust volume. When you have it as you want it then re-save it.

You can use Mixmaster to adjust any channels on midi, available on psr tutorial downloads. I changed a midi the other day taking reverb off. You can also as Eileen said in the mixer of Genos.

Hi Keith --

I do that sort of work in a DAW on a Windows PC. To me, it's easier to see everything up on a big screen.

There are some free DAW programs available like Sonar. Plus, entry-level MIDI editing tools are often bundled with audio/MIDI interfaces. The Steinberg UR series come to mind with Cubase AI bundled.

I will say, using a DAW means a steep(er) learning curve and it all depends on how much editing you will do.

All the best -- pj

Thank you for the replies. I will try the changes.
