Hi
I have got Yem working but will wait for the pack issue to be resolved by Yamaha before loading all in.

The thing now is that i have Yem and a couple of Easy Sounds packs showing, i chose a sound to see what the editing is like.
Now in sound edit mode i am finding after setting up Genos 2 to sound from Yem, the sounds that i choose to edit have a bit of latency when testing in Yem mode.

I set up
Midi Input---------- Digital Workstation

Audio out--------- using Line mode

This was the only way i could get everything to make a sound
I gather with my focusrite 6i6 switched off that now i am using the Genos 2 audio interface.
I get a nice sound but it has latency.

Is there a way of adjusting the milliseconds to a lower latency to correct this??
I suppose it is not a massive deal as you are only after correcting or layering sounds, but it would be nice to have testing in yem responsive on this super keyboard.

Perhaps an unnecessary question: have you installed the latest USB Midi driver (V3.1.4 for Win) ? ;)
My best regards,

At the G2 downloadsection the USB Mididriver (if win 10 / 11 64Bit)  is:

Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver V2.1.6 for Windows 11/10 (64-bit)

Hi

Yes i have put in the Steinberg driver that Gunner has said  which is the correct one for Genos 2

I have switched my USB Focusrite 6i6 sound box off for this to start with.
So i am using USB lead out the back which is both ways.

All sounds ok but a lower sound in Yem than when on the keyboard by itself.
There is an annoying latency as well, but seeing that there is an audio out in the setup i am puzzled.
I thought it was midi back and forwards to trigger the sounds on the Genos 2  whilst in Yem.
There is no way to adjust latency
Probably i have something wrong somewhere , but i am not presently seeing it.
There is no mention of the Yamaha sound interface in the manuals as far as i can see.
Normally a sound interface is adjustable in it's setup if using wave files

Yes, Gunnar was right, an usb- midi dirver had nothing to do with latency. I'v overlooked that. :(

The point is that there is no new instructions for YEM

The Genos 1 Yem  has   MIDI IN and MIDI OUT

The Genos 2  has MIDI IN and AUDIO OUT

I find this a little confusing,so if Yem is using Audio somehow it explains the latency.
But like Genos 1 Yem Midi In and out worked well.
The sound is also poor volume levels.
I think you have to have a Genos 2 to see and hear what i am trying to say.
I need someone that can help me get this firing on all six or i may have to give Yamaha a phone call.

The biggest thing is,  what does this audio interface do? no mention of it in the manual. How to ajust milliseconds to prevent latency etc???

At this stage John I think it best to get in touch with Yamaha tech support.

Hi Eileen

I think there is big problems with this new Yem.
I am noticing now that no thought has gone into this new program and i get the feeling Yamaha are using us as guinea pigs to test their software.
First we have the pack problem with no quick fix  and no instructions on this new audio interface and the in's and out's have changed on Yem for Genos 2.
All of this should of been tested as they have had a very long time to do this.

I have got all of my setup done today and runs perfectly as i have loaded all drivers and also Cubase sound information so it works with the Genos. Also my CC121 controller is working great.
I am all set for creating for midi and wave in to Cubase 13.

Just need to get those packs sorted and sound editing in Yem to work properly.
I may have to Give Yamaha a ring as nobody seems to be where i am at at the moment
