This might sound strange, while people are waiting for their Genos2, but think about it.

Let's say the next model comes in 5 years time, and that you have to pay an additional £/€/$ 3,000 to get it with part exchange.

That's 5 years x 12 months = 60 months.
3,000 divided by 60 = £/€/$ 50 per month into your savings account.

You may well be right. G2 was obviously delayed by Covid - with the factory and office closures, and then the massive effect on the global economy. I was expecting more of a 4 year gap between G1 and G2. Yamaha will be watching the market, and the economies of the target countries, very carefully no doubt.

I'd expect a V2 update in a couple of years and then some of us will jump on the G3 speculation bandwagon a year or two later! :)
It's not what you play, it's not how you play. It's the fact that you're playing that counts.

I'm already there.. speculating as best as I can. Will the autoarrengerkeyboard history continue, or will it be the organ history in reprise?
Maybe I should swap the G1 for G2 in a hurry before the new apartment is 6 feet under without windows, water and electricity.
Time flies....   :o ;D ;D ;D

Did you ever think G3 will never be? Maybe after G2 people have had enough of the same old and want something really NEW and amazing? Maybe we'll see a totally new keyboard concept from Yamaha who knows? people pass on, market audiences change, ... after reading many of these thoughts by players on G2 many aren't that impressed...
I could be wrong, at any rate enjoy what your playing and make great music .

Happy Holidays

Hey Donny,

I haven't seen any negative comments by anyone so far, where did you see these and what did they say?

You can clearly hear a difference and improvements, but only really if videos are recorded well.

Negative comments are all over this forum. You just need to read them.

Hi Fred,

No what I meant was by those who's got one. Donny said by 'players' which I understood it to be those that own one and not just people who's had a try.

The negative comments are more to do with expectations not being met than  the quality of the keyboard. It's obviously a great keyboard and the best arranger Yamaha has produced in absolute terms. But people develop expectations and when they are not met .......

The only negative comment I do about G2 is memory amount. It's really negative.

It seems G2 is more a better usage of the same base with very small changes (leds) than anything else. But this optimization is valuable.

Only FM integration is a real evolution

that would be Apollos?

Greek god of music?

And hopefully a true next gen thing

I always save up for my keyboards😀 And we do not have stores that do part exchange here in Norway, so I will have to sell my old keyboards privately. Problem is I do not have the heart to sell them!

The way you are going... it won't be long you could open a used keyboard museum.

It will be interesting to see if we get a Genos 3 end of 2026 or 2027.
I think the presentation and demos will be done quite differently.
Doubt they will pull that sh.. again and seeing so many negative comments in the chat and that old fashioned car salesman demo carry on at Bonners.

I think there would be a baby Genos2 before then just like the SX900 series after G1.
