OK, it's complex.
But it is the awaited style creator with 16 tracks.

Is the app available yet? I have the instructions.

Midi to style? Is not a Creator upgrade. It is just a reverse engineer what made the midi at best (maybe). So now Yamaha expects us buy MIDI files and make our styles. I need to choice the songs I want to play, not pick from a limited number songs that are some other company has available online.

I want to make my own styles "faster and easier" with the Creator.
But maybe there really isn't a quicker way to do it and that is why Yamaha packs are so expensive.

They are not putting the Music Finder back into the keyboard BUT they added some kind of new sorting system, so maybe that will work for me now (that's a winner).

Oh well, I still need a new SX .. something whatever keyboard next year for sure.  ;)

Yeah, G2 manuals and info is downloadable. :)

It looks like you have to buy G2, and register it before you can download the app. I would not be surprised if it's being connected to the keyboard info file to work, just as protected stylepacks does.
As soon as someone get hands on it, we will know more if the app get shared.....
If this conversion app works well, it will be a very helpful tool when users create generic or songspesific styles (depending of the midifile used).  8)

According to the video that is with the Midi to style app they say its free! Dont think they would lock it up behind a 5k purchase. Someone soon would release/unlock it. I think it was overdue for us G1 owners.

Agree fully.
Missed that part about it's free.
If so, they should place it at the G1 and other models downloadpages as well.

Is this feature really that important!??? I mean nearly every style on Genos is a Song specific style...

I would say so,  I suspect yamaha create their styles with this so they are releasing it to us free and the PX5 has one and so we don't Diss them over the G2. Imo

Absolutely. No, what I meant is that its a feature that would be useful if a keyboard does not have that many song specific styles, so we create our own with this feature using our favourite midi files.

The Pa5x doesn't actually have this feature, Korg strangely omitted it whereas the Pa4x/Pa1000 and even the Pa700 has it, but not Pa5x (perhaps yet). I also still own the Pa4x/Pa1000 & Pa700RD but dont use this function because I found it a bit gimmiky. It's fun of course, but I can't say its that important which is the only reason why I think Korg felt to omit it.

I did have fun with it, but soon got bored and preferred using the generic styles so I can play 100 songs using 1 style that would fit it rather than 1 style that would fit just 1 song only.

It will be far more easier to make a midi file on a DAW and import it into the Genos 2. So it could be used for other styles than specific ones.

And the interface shows that complex styles (with 16 tracks) are managed.

PA5X does not omitted it, it was a NEW keyboard, a new OS, it is another platform than PA4x -> PA3x, etc...
They said it will be in an incomming update of the OS.

And now, why do you think it is a song related software? If it say that is a song to style, do you think it is a song related software? LOL .. You know that a style is basically a midi file (a song file) and a CASM section, which tells to keyboard how the channels are played, and so many other parameters?
Think of what you can do with this:
import your style in a DAW and modify it there (it is probably easier for some user than in keyboard)
then the midi file you will import in this software and do all the settings for the CASM section (all setting for the style).
THIS is the best news I see in all this "Next Masterpiece" ;)

PA5X does not omitted it,

What do you mean??? The Pa5x, as it stands today, does NOT have this feature.

valimaties

You said that Korg ommited it.... it is wrong, they released the keyboard without this feature... again, it was a new keyboard, a new OS, started from scratch... If you don't believe me, look at Korg PA5X news on their site to see which function and when will be released (those "omminted" ones you told). When it was released there was a lot of missing functionality in Style Editor, too... no quantization, cut, insert, copy functions, which was already in PA4X... now, with the latest update, they are back again... All functions from PA4X will be implemented back in PA5X, with no doubt, as they said...
But, now back to Genos 2, the "masterpiece" of us ;D

I totally get you, but I used the term omitted to mean that Korg left it out at the time, for the time being. It's not the same as saying removed, or deleted, or discontinued, just omitted, aka, to temporarily exclude or leave it until further notice. Maybe I am not explaining myself correctly?? I dont know.
