Friends,

My own summary:

A new look ....
A larger screen
No new type of voices. SA2 always considered as the best ...  :(
More memory
Evolutive  :)
Effectively, MIDI part and USB recording seem to be something important  :)

No AI, nothing about seamless sound switching ...

Without more information, it seems Genos 2 is more a small evolution than a revolution

Yes I'm with you on that, this can't be all the information because it certainly didn't do too much for me. A gap for 7-ish years for just that!! There's nothing there that's specifically new or different other than placing a lot of emphasis on the cosmetic side! I am hoping (no, expecting) much more features & functions plus an enhancement on the Revo drums & with more of them for selection, as surely they just didn't include everything in that post. Also it looks like the Expansion Manager is retained as it mentions "installing" voices & styles, this system I've always disliked and was hoping they'd do away with it to come up with a more user friendly way to load multiple packs without having to use a PC.

Thank you for sharing it though Sunny, appreciate it and if accurate/authentic, its the first bit of information to come out (that I've seen anyway).

They took the features of Genos 1, changed the title to Genos 2 and republished the news (99.99% fake)  ;)

Agree. The text is super vague and smells like super fake.

Sunny,

Please provide the link to the article.

Maarten

P.S. Oh, and please change the title of this thread to "Some rumored info about Genos2" or "Some interesing info about Genos2 ??". Thanks.

That would most certainly explain why I felt underwhelmed when I read it ! I hope you're right :)

Here are links to genuine Yamaha press releases for Genos generation 1:

I agree -- the posting is way more bland than your average press release. Where is the link to the original? If it's on a retailer site, then it's suspect because it says absolutely nothing.

Hi Soundphase,

What AI features do you expect on the Genos II? I missed an "Artificial Intelligence" component completely. Do you have examples?

Maarten

I think it's possible to analyse the way we play in real time (more notes, fewer notes, more pressure, less pressure...) to automatically and 'intelligently' adapt the style (change variations a,b,c,d for example, activate/deactivate parts) according to learned patterns based on musical standards.....

Why didn't the OP provide the original link?  Looks suspicious (fake) to me!

The format of that original post article, looks liked ChatGPT (generative AI program) wrote it.  I suspect that with some input to ChatGPT or similar, one could get 'output' as this reads ... ?

Other interesting info about new Genos found on youtube:

Powered by specially developed Yamaha technology, the sonic quality of every Voice in Genos is beyond any other Digital Workstation you've ever played. Everything you hear, whether it be the beautiful CFX piano, the lush Kino Strings or the punchy Revo! Drums, it just blows you away! Yamaha just reduced the price by $1000 to make it more affordable and get ride of the remaining inventory on the market, that means the Yamaha's next flagship arranger keyboard.'  finally will come true and all the evidence are pointing to the facts that we are only months away from the release of new Genos EX by Yamaha.

Jim,

I think you hit the nail on its head! The text does have that ChatGPT ring to it, now that you mention it.

It would also explain why you get zero results when you enter part of the text in an Internet search engine...  ???

Good to see you back on the forum, BTW!

ChatGPT has ~2 years old data (it is not current), so that means anything it may have come up with re: Genos II, is not real or accurate.  ChatGPT,in its current iteration (version), has no "knowledge" of anything from 2023.

I asked Chat GPT to make an 8 point description of a Possible Yamaha Genos 2.

Although abbreviated (it would be very easy to ask ChatGPT to expand on each topic), it totally sounds similar in vague style, thus I think the original post is a bunch of horse***.

------

Write an 8 point description of a possible Yamaha Genos 2 keyboard
------
Certainly, here's an 8-point description of a possible Yamaha Genos 2 keyboard:

1. Advanced Sound Engine: The Yamaha Genos 2 keyboard features a powerful and updated sound engine, delivering an extensive range of high-quality voices and instruments. It offers realistic and expressive sound options for musicians of all genres.

2. Enhanced Touchscreen Interface: The Genos 2 comes equipped with an improved touchscreen interface, making it easier for users to navigate through various functions, select voices, and customize settings with intuitive gestures.

3. Expanded Sound Library: Yamaha has expanded the sound library, including an extensive collection of voices, styles, and effects. Musicians can access a broader spectrum of sounds, covering everything from Classical to contemporary music.

4. Wireless Connectivity: Genos 2 includes enhanced connectivity options, with built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities. Musicians can easily connect their keyboard to smartphones, tablets, or computers for seamless data transfer and performance integration.

5. Advanced Accompaniment Styles: The keyboard offers a wide array of accompaniment styles, catering to different musical genres and playing styles. Genos 2's styles have been upgraded for greater realism and versatility.

6. Enhanced Performance Features: Yamaha Genos 2 features improved performance features, including the ability to layer and split voices, record multi-track MIDI and audio, and utilize advanced effects processing for studio-quality sound.

7. Streamlined Design: The Genos 2 sports a sleek and ergonomic design with a comfortable playing surface and easy-to-reach controls. The keyboard is built for both stage and studio performance.

8. Integration with Music Production Software: Yamaha has designed Genos 2 to seamlessly integrate with music production software and digital audio workstations (DAWs), allowing musicians to use it as a versatile MIDI controller and sound source for music production and recording.

Please note that this description is based on the concept of a hypothetical Yamaha Genos 2 keyboard, and actual features and specifications may vary if such a product were to be developed and released in the future.

Hello AK,

I have the impression that you have not followed the thread of discussions concerning the release of Genos version 2.
You are still using the expression "Hypothetical Genos 2 keyboard" while the announcement of its release will occur on November 16th followed in France by the immediate or slightly delayed availability of these arrangers to those who have them. will have pre-ordered and of which I am a part.

I appreciate that you seem to have some insider knowledge (I take it you do not feel bound by any Yamaha confidentiality agreements)

But, with respect, until there is an official announcement from Yamaha, it *is* hypothetical.

What are you talking about?
I asked Chat GPT to simply give me a hypothetical description of a Genos 2 to demonstrate how dumb the original post was and that is what I posted.
I know fine well the Genos 2 is going to be released.

I have the impression you have not followed the thread of discussion in THIS thread!

Sometimes it helps to stay on topic.
