Right-o. The announcement teaser starts with the subject "Drumroll, Please... Something BIG is coming..." and ends with a picture of drum gear and a button "Explore Our Drums Lineup".

Plus, the trademark is classified: "Class 015 - Musical instruments; Electronic musical instruments; music synthesizers; electronic drums; electronic drum pads; electronic percussion instruments; drum machines; finger drums; drums [musical instruments]; music stands; cases for musical instruments; stands for musical instruments; pedals for musical instruments."

I'm guessing it's something for chimpanzees to bang on.  ;D

All the best -- pj

P.S. Some folk on Yamaha Musicians Forum believe it is guitar-related ("FG" = "Folk Guitar").

I did Laugh at this, My fellow musician friends are always telling me, The keyboard player is the least coolest person in the band, I can't wait to show the drummer this quote and throw him a Banana when he tries to pull my leg again. :)

The same user (mx49) pj refers to in the original post of this thread, made a new, interesting comment yesterday.

S/he noticed, that Yamaha have removed certain models from the list, probably because of the discovery of the list. This move would suggest that the removed models are real and will probably be announced soon-ish.

Yamaha was so kind and removed models from the list. We can look at the models that Yamaha removed since the last time I checked. These are the models that were apparently added too early to the registration form:

Strange ...

Interesting that the correspondent is Colombo.

Sounds very similar to a name of a person who could help do some investigation here to find out what the hell is going on.

I'm left wondering, "Did Yamaha test the FGDPs with GENOS2 or Montage M?"

Seems like the FGDPs would be natural accessories for either new keyboard. The leaked photos of Montage M8X do not disclose finger pads while competitors (e.g., Roland Fantom) offer pads.

Inquiring minds want to know...  :D

I must admit that this time Yamaha are doing a sterling job in keeping the secret :)

Oh, just adding another theory to this post. Doesn't matter much, but come on  ;): keeping a certain product a secret for as long as possible has the purpose of not letting the competition look into your card. Once a final product has been developed, marketing will play a major role. Nowadays it has become quite normal to let a 'leak' occur every now and then. This is free advertising for the brand product and stimulates the need among potential buyers. And a great need generates more money ... so there will be some more 'leaks' every now and then on the world wide web by mister X or in this case mister Y.  ;)
My best regards,
Ton

In 2017, I bought my Genos October 23 or 24. It was the first received by the merchant from Lille (main city in northern France).
He did not unpack it and called me immediately.

Some photos leaked 2 or 3 weeks before if I remember correctly.
I imagine Yamaha's marketing will play out the same way this year.

I realize that I'm impatient since we saw "Genos2" appears in the list of Yamaha products

I hope the HS3 and HS4 in the list (it seems both models will be available in black and in white) are smaller monitor speakers. Smaller than the HS5, HS7 and HS8.

For a relatively small desk I'm looking for speakers for my computer. The HS5 is too big. On the other hand, small USB-powered speakers sound too bad for my taste. It's a delicate balance between size and sound quality.
A pair of HS3s or HS4s might just be the perfect fit.

In the past I've bought Edifier, and they sound OK-ish, but I would love to have Yamaha speakers on my desk!

We'll see what Yamaha come up with.

JohnS (Ugawoga)

Hi Maarten

I have got an old pair of Warfdale Black Diamond self powered speakers.
Each 23x18 centimeters and are still great for playing wave files on my other desktop.
I accidentally pushed in  a bubble cone at the top, so i put my vacuum or hoover over it and gently sucked it out to a perfect dome shape again, no splits, just a minor crease. They they still play with Wharfdale quality.
I must have purchased them in 1997 and were used on my first Yamaha keyboard  DSR2000 and they have been on Hot tub holidays and parties. They just will not give up. ;D

Where the heck is this new Genos????????????????????  "Now i am pacing up and down"!!!!! ;D ;D ;D :P ::) tap, tap, tap, tap, tap :-\

Probability it's a fake, is very high.

I would like to have such level indicators indicating the current values of the slider, as they don't move automatically when registrations change.

maartenb

Nice find! But yeah, I consider it a 100% fake, too. Just one simple example, the "2" after "Genos" is exactly the same "2" as the Tyros 2.

I do like the idea to have lights next to the sliders, though! (see attachment, which is a still from the video)

There is an additional button "desktop" near the "assignable" section. The title for the new leds for the slider is "slider signal". And there is ribbon controller below the joystick.

The main issue for me is that the screen doesn't show any change at all.

When do people think we will hear any more about it?  Or does some one know a date in October for the announcement?

I am currently thinking of either waiting for the new genos or  buying a second hand one to save quite a bit of money!! Choices choises!

I think the new one will be at least £5000

Hi Maarten,

Maybe the Yamaha MSP3A would be something for you:
>>> https://uk.yamaha.com/en/products/proaudio/speakers/msp3a/index.html

I have the slightly larger Yamaha MSP5 Studio and am very happy with it. Unfortunately, as far as I know, the MSP5 Studio are no longer manufactured. If I need more sub-bass, I combine it with an HS8S powered subwoofer (the HS series subwoofer).

I haven't had a chance to hear or test the relatively new MSP3A yet, but I think this model might be exactly what you're looking for.

Best regards,
Chris
