I wonder... "M" perhaps stands for multi-engine to include "AN-X" ? along with FM and AWM2 (maybe AWM3) Time will tell.

Genos2 will also be of interest after Korgs premature and sluggish response with PA5X.

Oh boy, again no tilting screen here. I hope they don't mean Genos and Genos (version) 2 (.0) ? Nice choice between 3 sizes. So come on Ya.. : Genos 2 (X and XL and XXL) also in 3 versions, not so difficult. We'll see, we'll see...soner .. or later?

You're looking at the pictures for the MontageX, which have always come in 61,76 and 88 key sizes.

Nothing listed for Clavinova, unfortunately. Perhaps Clavinova customers register elsewhere.

I'm trying out digital pianos and liked the P-515. Now I know to sit and wait just a little bit longer.  :D

Yes, I knew it was the montage. But I don't hope that Yamaha copies the layout of the Montage for the new Genos-model, that would be disappointing. To be precise: No tiltable screen and too small. Did they forget it is 2023?  Furthermore I meant that I still expect that a New Genos will come also in three sizes. The near future will show if I'm completely wrong  ;)
My best regards,

Looking at the new CVP-909 with little change compared to the outgoing model, I wonder if YAMAHA will continue to play it safe with Genos2 ? Not sure why they would do this, but if CVP-909 is anything to go by ??

Thanks for the list and therefore things that might soon arrive, PJ!

I can't help but wonder why the new Montage isn't just called Montage 2?

Why would they? :)

The Genos looked nothing like the original montage; incidentally, while arranger folks would like tiltable screens (myself included), no workstation I've seen since Korg Oasys in 2005 (ok technically the back half of the Korg M3 was also tiltable, but not a separate screen, which is more expensive to produce and maintain). Yamaha Montage/Modx, Roland Fantom/FA, Korg Kronos/Krome/Nautilus are all fixed screens.

I'm not sure why studio boards don't do tilt screens (I'm assuming the cost/ potential breakdowns) but they don't. Since Yamaha has never done a tilt screen on a studio workstation, I'd be shocked if they ever did! I don't think Roland has ever done so, either.

Because the customer (and I) wants a tiltable screen, just simple as that. I just wrote about a tiltable screen (not the whole layout): it's more comfortable to read and more ergonomic for an (home/ gigging) total arranger. In a studio producers work mostly with monitors, then it is less needed I presume.

A YouTuber posted on WhatsApp a picture of the Genos 2 but I don't know if it is real. It is a picture I never seen before on the internet, I searched the photo on Facebook, Instagram and Google but I didn't find it.

The Live Control subdisplay is one thing copped from Genos. The Montage M has a secondary display above its knobs and sliders. Montage gen 1 does not have the subdisplay and uses the old skool Motif button matrix.

Folks on synth forums are bemoaning eight sliders instead of nine like Genos. Eight sliders implies some kind of compromise when it comes to controlling drawbar settings...

Genos did get a lot of things right! I'll likely pass on GENOS2, but send it best wishes.  :) 8)

Today, a new name on Yamaha warranty registration site:

Genos// EX
-this name actually existed before.

The new name seems to be Genos2 //Y2 -which was removed from the list in last day or two.
If you take a look on source page at Yamaha Singapore, then you can see the following (increasing number) pattern:
...
138850 = GENOS //EX
...
143637 = PSR-SX700
143638 = PSR-SX900
...
145174 = PSR-SX600
...
149496 = GENOS2 //Y2 -this was removed
...

To me, this is so far the most believable proof that Genos2 is on the way .. prepare your wallets  ;D

Hi
What do you think the difference between //EX  and //Y2 is
Could it be that EX is the older model??. Like the old girlfriend you left ;D
Just wondering about that :-\
Genos, I7 computer 32 gig ram, Focusrite 6i6, Cubase controller, Focal Alpha Monitors, Yamaha DXR8 Speakers
Cubase 10, Sonarworks, Izotope.  Sampletank, Arturia and Korg software.  Now IK Mixbox

Hahaha.. nothing like that, I think.. because many will never part with first Genos.

These suffixes are usually given for possibility to differentiate two or more variations of the same product (i.e. 76 and 61 key version) -but can also have any other purpose .. except divorce   ;D

However, because Yamaha knows how to hide its secrets very well, I think that the time that chose to have this thing in this list is not a coincidence.
Maybe there will be news soon.

Just took a look at the current list, too. Yamaha deleted all of the new, unannounced products (including P-525, MONTAGE M).

I've said it before, Yamaha is the most paranoid company on planet Earth, with the possible exceptions of Sony and Apple.

With the cat out of the bag, suppressing this info is merely an exercise in punishment for staff. Beatings will continue until morale improves.  ;)

If I understand correctly, "Arranger Workstation" is now a Yamaha trademark.

It's clear that they don't pay a trademark, for nothing.

Something will happen.

Not sure it is linked with FGDP and September 5th....

JohnS (Ugawoga)

It does not show Arranger Workstation for 2017 or is there another division
history list for previous Genos and Tyros??
I am not techy in this sort of thing , but i am just analyzing in my way.

The logo is associated with FGDP trademark: https://www.trademarkelite.com/europe/trademark/trademark-detail/018843051/FGDP

Strange ...

Right-o. The announcement teaser starts with the subject "Drumroll, Please... Something BIG is coming..." and ends with a picture of drum gear and a button "Explore Our Drums Lineup".

Plus, the trademark is classified: "Class 015 - Musical instruments; Electronic musical instruments; music synthesizers; electronic drums; electronic drum pads; electronic percussion instruments; drum machines; finger drums; drums [musical instruments]; music stands; cases for musical instruments; stands for musical instruments; pedals for musical instruments."

I'm guessing it's something for chimpanzees to bang on.  ;D

All the best -- pj

P.S. Some folk on Yamaha Musicians Forum believe it is guitar-related ("FG" = "Folk Guitar").
