Hi,
My question about the Banks and registration has been read 178times last count.  I received one answer from Gary which helped me out a way for creating a new bank.
But I am still stuck with those 4 "registration banks" before/ or in front of Bank 1. (See original picture)
Any help there please 👍👍

Hi Ton

To create a new bank - there are two ways
1 Hold the top most black key when switching the KB on.
2 Using Reg Edit, delete all the banks on by one.

It appears that the banks on the left you have named as folders.
I find the best way to name banks it to start with 01 or 001 if you are going past the hundred.
I first create a Folder and name it registration banks. And then I save all my banks to this. This makes them easy to find and keep things tidy.

Hi Eileen

Yes, you are correct, I did not notice the folder icons.

You've told us you're stuck with the "banks", but you haven't told us what you want to do with them.

Cheers,

Hi Ton,

The yellow symbols in your picture are FOLDERS, not (Registration Bank) FILES. Presumably, instead of SAVING the current Registration Bank as a file, you created a new folders several times (and named them similarly to your Registration Bank Files). These folders are probably EMPTY, i.e. do not contain any files.

Folders appear in ALL File Selection displays, but the files they contain are only visible in the "correct" File Selection display (e.g. Registration Bank files only in the Registration Selection display, Styles only in the Style Selection display, etc.)

As a precaution, go into each of these folders (by selecting them, one by one) to make sure there are no Registration Bank files in them. Note that other file types that might be contained in any of these folders (e.g. Styles or MIDI files) would NOT appear here, as mentioned above.

To leave a folder again, i.e. to go one hierarchy level higher, press "UP". Then you will see all folders again and can open/check the next one.

I recommend you to delete the not needed folders. To do this, first press DELETE, then select the desired folder and press OK. Note that this cannot be undone, and never use DELETE > ALL. The latter would delete ALL folders and files at (and below) the current position!

Please also refer to the chapter "File Management" in PSR-S975/S775 Owner's Manual, pages 27 - 33. Everything important regarding files and folders is well explained there.

I hope my explanations will help you to solve the described "problem".

Best regards,
Chris

Thank you all for the help , I will try it all today🤷
It is a real bugger getting old 🥲. Just 5-6 years ago I would have been able to do it. But it is good to have friends who will help out.
Kind regards,
Ton.

Ton, old friend. As I have stated many times in the past, "Getting old ain't for wimps and sissies." ;) I should know - I'll be 83 in October, if I make it that far. I have a long list on my smart phone of body parts that were bad and those that were removed. I have another list of physicians and surgeons, another page of medications, and finally a page of previous surgeries - all of the crap that the doctors ask you every time you come to them with a problem. This makes it easy to get around filling out all those damned papers with little boxes next to the same questions you answered dozens of times in the past.

Good luck, old timer,

Hi Ton,

I'm glad you were able to delete the unnecessary folders next to your Registration Bank files.

By the way, I merged today's new topic "False Banks Gone" with the existing topic "False bank entrie".

Chris

I was reading through all your replies and specially Gary's, that reminded me of a "poem" I wrote in 2001;

Old age is a blessing
I wrote some years ago
I didn't know any better
I was still there to go
But now in my eighties
And 'pain' is my friend
my constant companion
with me till the end.

My eyesight is diminished
Arthritis day by day
All my pills and potions
Don't make it go away
My headaches they are blinding
The make me trip and fall
The acupuncture needles
They do not work at all

My cane, by my bedside
In case I 'need to go'
Old age ain't no blessing
In case you want to know
You ask me "how you're going"
Oh please give it a rest
Cause I don't feel like lying
But I like to get it off my chest.

I have a constant headache
My back, it gives me hell
My feet are both arthritic
My ticker is irratic
my BP is sky high
I am diabetic
And I've got floaties in my eye

I have 2 hip replacements
And they keep popping out
And if that's not enough
I also have some gout
My arches have been dropping
For forty years or more
I also have cholesterol
And my back is very sore

My lunges are shot from smoking
Sometimes I gasp for air
My scalp is getting colder
I am slowly losing hair
You ask me how 'r going
Do you really want to know?
I'm sure you have problems
That you would like to go (away)

But I am not complaining
I still think I'm OK
Although I am on crutches
And a walker, anyway
From now on please stop asking
How are you today
I may just have to ask YOU
And let you have your say

So , 22 YEARS LATER I COULD ADD A COUPLE MORE VERSES TO THIS SONG, BUT  ALL THE COMPLAINING
AIN'T GOING MAKE NO BLOODY DIFFERENCE ANYMORE. 😋🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂

Hi Ton,

Welcome back to the forum after your extended absence.

I remember reading your poem, long ago, and it reminds me of something I once heard Bill Gaither say in a live performance in Kansas City, Missouri. Bill is now 87 years old and is a contemporary Christian singer, songwriter with a great sense of humor. His short poem follows:

I can live with my arthritis.
My dentures fit just fine.
I can see with my new bifocals.
But oh how I miss my mind.

:) ;D :) ;D
"Music Is My Life"
My best regards,
Roger

Hi Roger,
Nice to hear from you and I like that little poem, but I would change the last line to
"How I miss my memory" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I was watching the Gaithers  on YouTube the other day , their celebration programme,
they make some nice music.🎼🎼🎹🎹
Kind regards,
Ton
