Will Chord Looper record Intro as part of the chord variations of Main Variation A? Same question for ending of Main Variation D. In other words, will CL record Intro and Ending.
Thanks

I don't know, but I will guess 'no' since although the chord does seem to 'change' during the intro / ending, the actual trigger chord being played on the LH doesn't change. Maybe I will give it a go later!

Thanks, Derek!
Do you know of an online tutorial for sx900 Chord Looper?
I need to know if I can record 16 Measures ( four measures per chord looper  number). Another
Member said one can record intros and endings, also.
Thanks,
Mike (Mhack)

Chord Looper will record the chord you need to play.

If you need to start an intro with F, that's the chord that needs to be in the looper, regardless of what chords are actually sounded in the intro. Sane with endings.

You can have as many measures as you want in a CL file. I've have 248 measures without any problems.

Fref

Fred,
I am referring to INTRO/ENDING as being the ones that are in the style being used. Do you mean use F
To begin playing the style? And, do you mean the entire song can be recorded in the first  space?
One song per space? (8 spaces), 8 songs?
Thanks,
Mike

Once you have recorded your chords into chord looper then you can choose any style to play them back and you use the Intros of that style.

Thanks Fred. I re-read #3 ( your post), and I start my style in D. When I played it back it did not have the intro.
Question. How many chords can be recorded in space no. 1? Song is 3/4 time and each verse has 16 measures. Can 16 measures be recorded in each numbered space?
I Do appreciate your patience.

A chord looper file simply plays the same chords as you would do manually.

For you to play an intro manually, you need to:
1. Load the style
2. Press the intro button you want
3. Play a chord in the left hand area of the keyboard.

The chord looper file replaces #3, but not the first two. I suspect you do #1on your own, but you're not doing #2.

You can have as many measures as you want in each "numbered space".

Finally, while you can get the looper to chord an intro, I'm doubting you will want to implement this, as you seldom want to loop an intro.

What I do is initiate the intro manually, then start the chord looper at the end of the intro. I do this with registrations, but whichever way you want is up to you.

Fred

Exactly Fred, why would anyone want to loop an intro? The loop function is intended to let you concentrate on playing RH melody or improv while the accompaniment takes care of itself. You can do this on an intro already.

Thanks to all! Fred, I will do intro, turn around, and ending myself. I will record first 24 measures in #1, then live turn around, and finish the last 13 measure in #2, then live ending. I will let you know when have accomplished my goal. Have you perchance have a video tutorial on this.
Thanks
Mike

If I record a long and complicated series of chords,
is it possible to change one without playing it again?

I use mixmaster to edit CL files. Also allows me to fix the timing.

Hi , I'm using Jos Maas's chord player software to record chord loops for my PA5x. (Currently no editing on board. )  Only reason I'm using it , I will be able to use the same file for recording chord loops on PA5x, chord loops sx900, and it will play the chords for a  non factory style if I have to be 100% accurate to record a backing track.
So far I've only used it for PA5x loops.
Wasn't aware I could edit loops in mixmaster, not familiar with software, but I don't think it would be of use with my PA5x.
For the sake of $10 for chord player, saved me hours of having to re record loops for just a minor mistake.

Hey, Fred,
Who makes the "mixmaster" software you mentioned, please?
Thanks,
Mike

It's from our forum member Etienne Volbragt: :)

I looked at the description of this software, but I don't see how I could modify,
say, the 15th chord played on the looper.
It would be easier if you could change this on the instrument.

1. Export the Looper number you want to modify (eg, CLD_001)
2. Open this file in Mix Master
3. Click on List View
4. Right click on the 15th chord, choose edit
5. Edit the event as desired.
6. Save the file
7. Import the file back into the looper bank.

Yes it would be easier if we could edit these files on the keyboard, but you can't. You can either wish, or do. Take your pick.
