Ok I'm usually pretty savvy with technology and Yamaha keyboards, but this one has me stumped.
I've read the user manual and reference manual, which doesn't seem to make any sense nor explain how to do this.

I've created a registration bank of 8 registration memories - each with different songs, transpose settings, voices etc.
I can see how to rename the bank (just select it and choose 'name'). However how do you edit the names of the individual registration memories within it?  When I change my registrations I get numbers against the bank name on the home screen.  Some of them have titles (probably carried over from a previous S950 registration I loaded) but I need to change these individual memory names that appear under the bank name when I change to each registration memory.

I've tried everything and nothing appears to give me this option. The manual has a typo as it refers to pressing the down arrow key (7) but nothing is labelled 7 on the accompanying diagrams.  Even so, there are no options other than rename the bank.

I did discover by pressing direct access and then the registration memory, I could call up a list display of the registration memories - but there's nothing on that screen to edit them.

Anyone figured it out?

Many thanks
Simon

Ok, I think I've discovered a bug in the SX600 OS.   After switching off the keyboard and back on, I went in to the registration bank menu and this time there was a different menu on the bottom of the display.  I could now edit the registration bank, rename and/or delete individual registration memories!   I also noticed after now using file operations on registrations, there was an option below the 'up folder' button on the rightmost side to 'close'. This then reverted back to the new list of options for the bank.  I'm pretty sure that close option wasn't there before and I was unable to edit the bank, only perform file operations on the main bank file.   Not sure why this happened, maybe something to do with using registrations from my old PSR S950?  Anyway fingers crossed!

Hello Simon,

Usually when you have a bank loaded you can tab on REG BANK EDIT, and a menu drops down. Then select the registration Number you wish to rename and select RENAME. Just take it from there and rename it to whatever you desire.

Move to the next reg number, repeat until you are happy with the results. And so and so on..... Then save your results

Should work

regards

Hi Simon,

Naming (or deleting) individual Registrations within a Registration Bank is done on all PSR-S/SX models as well as Tyros and Genos in the "Registration Edit" display. Operation on SX600 is slightly different than on the other models mentioned, but the procedure is described in detail in the SX600 Reference Manual, page 76 (see the attached screenshot).

So open the Registration Bank Selection display (by pressing the "Regist Bank -/+" buttons simultaneously, make sure the desired Bank is loaded and then open the Registration Edit display by pressing "Edit" ([7 ▼] button).

By the way, I recommend using a separate Registration Bank for each song (named with the song title in question), so don't store multiple songs in one Bank. This way you can quickly find/call up any song in the Registration Bank Selection display since the Registration Bank files are sorted alphabetically here. If required, you can use the names of the individual Registrations for references to the memorized Style section (e.g. Intro1) or the relevant part of the song (e.g. Verse1) or for references to the memorized Voices (e.g. PianoStrings).

Best regards,
Chris
