Hi.  When I make a MIDI Sy*** dump to PC from a button on my PSR-SX700 I get a Hex code.  But I cannot use the same Hex code to send back from PC to Keyboard.  I know the correct Hex code for some individual buttons that work from PC to Keyboard, but there are individual 00s that have become 11. Isn't there an option to record / learn the correct Hex code when you dump to PC?

Keyboard Master

are you using midi in and out cables to pc or usb to host. if midi in and out make sure that the midi out is on midi in and the midi in is on midi out,

Hi JAKIV,

Most (although unfortunately by far not all) MIDI data and System Exclusive data transmitted and/or received are documented in the SX700 Data List PDF. Have you already studied this manual?

If you don't have the Data List yet, you can download it here: >>> https://uk.yamaha.com/en/products/musical_instruments/keyboards/arranger_workstations/psr-sx700/downloads.html

Additional important information about Yamaha XG programming can be found here, for example:
>>> http://www.studio4all.de/htmle/frameset090.html

Hope this helps!

Best regards,
Chris
● Everyone kept saying "That won't work!" - Then someone came along who didn't know that, and - just did it.
● Never put the Manual too far away: There's more in it than you think! ;-)

Hello
I use USB cable from Yamaha directly to PC.
Have also tried with an M-Audio USB Controller with 2 cables 5 pole, but with the same result. However, I think that I would not receive anything if I had put the cables in the other way around.
When I record a Sy*** message to the PC from my Yamaha PSR-SX700, the same Sy*** code cannot be used to send back to the SX700.
Example.
Dump to PC Regi.Mem.(1)= F0 43 73 01 52 25 00 01 01 00 01 00 F7
If I want to send the same Sy*** message back to the SX700, the Sy*** must be called: F0 43 73 01 52 25 11 00 01 00 00 F7
Rec:   F0 43 73 01 52 25 00 01 01 00 01 00 F7
Send: F0 43 73 01 52 25 11 00 01 00 00 F7
As you can see, there are some HEX codes that are not the same.
I have read the PSR-SX700_Engelsk_Data List.pdf document and especially from pages 103 - 117, but unfortunately it does not give me any explanation.
I will of course try to review the site at studio4all.dk
Sincerely
JAKI
