Adding new Styles to Genos.

I am just learning about the 2 Style file types. I read about how Yamaha carried lots of Styles forward from previous models.

Do you have any suggestions on what I should purchase here to get more Styles while avoiding too much duplication with what comes loaded with Genos? Looking for Contemporary, Rock, Pop, Jazz/Swing mostly.

I also own a CGP1000. If I buy sFF1 files I think I can use a both keyboards. A nice plus.

And - can I purchase multiple Styles to 'fill up' the 20gb thumb drive? I'm not comfortable yet with downloading.

Thanks for any specific insights.

Hello, Tom.

Well, I created some styles for specific songs of pop/rock/ballad/80's, to be as close to the original song as possible. You can take a look at Guets are not allowed to view links. In order to access the links, please Register or Login, and it's possible to listen and see video demos of all styles (www.youtube.com/pedromseleuterio). In my YouTube channel it's possible to see I playing them also.

I create styles in craft way, only using my Genos - no computer or softwares - So, I'm sure it will sound the best, because it's like I'm playing with myself, not with robotic computers... However, they are not compatible with CGP1000.

Regards,

Hi --

I have purchased individual styles and a Soul and Blues style bundle from Yamaha Musicsoft. I started out with these styles on PSR-S950 and transfered them to Genos when I bought Genos. Can't say if Yamaha Musicsoft has all of these styles anymore, especially after they reorganized their site.

If you buy styles on Yamaha Musicsoft, it's worth it to see if the individual styles are part of a bundle. The bundles give better value.

Hope this info helps -- pj

    BreakoutBlues.T161.sty
    ClassicBlues.sty

    MemphisSoul.T108.prs
    PowerDisco.T108.prs
    R&BRock.T108.prs
    RenegadeRock.T161.sty
    FunkyGospel.S085.sty

Blues and Soul bundle:
    BarryDisco.S912.STY

Gosh, forgot to mention...

I converted styles from Yamaha Motif/MOX and DJX II keyboards to Genos/PSR:

Guets are not allowed to view links. In order to access the links, please Register or Login
Guets are not allowed to view links. In order to access the links, please Register or Login

The E443 styles are SFF1.

They're free. Genres are R&B, funk, rock, and jazzy variants. The DJX II styles are so-called DJ styles. DJ styles have chord progressions built-in and follow only the root note, not chord type.

Have fun -- pj
