Hello!

I bought a bluetooth pedal for turning the sheet pages using SongBook+.

I tried everything, but when I press the pedal to go to the next page, it seems it is selecting a page (turning it to blue) instead of pass to another page... I tried everything, but couldn't work as it must work.

Anyone has any clue?

Hi Pedro,

Did you get the AirTurn Pedal? Songbook+ has nothing to do with the pedal except it has to be compatible which we know it is, it is between pedal and iPad. Can you post a screen shot of the blue page, I have never seen that before.

On your iPad under bluetooth can you find the AirTurn and is it connecting?
If your answer is yes then turn off Airturn pedal by holding red button in 3-4 seconds, then go into iPad bluetooth and click the arrow next to AirTurn and select Forget this device. Turn Bluetooth off. Turn on Airturn, wait for a few seconds then hold power button for about 8 seconds or so until lights blink red and green. then go into ipad and turn on bluetooth. When the pedal appears select it and pair it up again.

If that doesnt work you may have inadvertently changed the mode of the pedal.  this is easy to do if you have a pedal held down while powering up, it's easy to do as the power button is hard to press.
If you didnt get a book with your pedal let me know I will scan mine for you. To go back to default mode 3 you need to go thru a few steps to correct this.

We know Songbook+ is compatible with AirTurn so that's not the problem, if you did get the AirTurn.

Just thought of something else. Sometimes you need to close Songbook and open it again. Also make sure you don't have a lot of other programs open on iPad.

Let us know,

Hello.

I didn't find the airturn here in Brazil, so I bought the strich pedal (the same as donner pedal).

I have the newest iPad 12,9 without home button.

It looks to select the page, not turn the page, turning the page blue.
In menu, I can go up and down with the pedal. But when displaying the pdf sheet, it don't pass the page.

I will try again

I figure out one thing.
I have a normal keyboard to the iPad too.
I can't pass to next page with the keyboard either.

When I press the right arrow key, it selects the page, the same as with pedal.

So I don't think it's a pedal problem. It is acting like the keyboard.

May be some app or iPad behavior configuration.

Hi Pedro,

You can't have a bluetooth keyboard and try to use AirPedal at the same time. Not sure about the Strict Pedal.

Try disabling your keyboard.

I could make it work with ForScore. I think SongBook+ was the problem...
But I will trying more to figure out.

overover

Hi Pedro,

I am working with Songbook+ V4.0.6 on an iPad4 (as this is the last version that supports this iPad).

If I touch the "Gear" icon (to open the "Settings" menu) and then touch "Foot pedal", there are settings for "Keyboard simulating foot pedal" and "MIDI foot pedal". I assume that you need the former settings for your foot pedal.

I recommend the following:

Set the Strich pedal to "Option 2" so that the "Pedal Left" sends the command "Left Arrow" and the "Pedal Right" sends the key command "Right Arrow". (By default, i.e. with "Option 1", the Strich pedal sends the key commands "Page Up" / "Page Down", which apparently cannot be processed by SB+.) See also the attached picture.

In SB+ in "Keyboard simulating foot pedal" set the following:

Action on key 'Up' > Do nothing
Action on key 'Down' > Do nothing
Action on key 'Left' > Jump to previous page
Action on key 'Right' > Jump to next page

Now it should actually work as expected. I wish you success!

Best regards,
Chris

● Everyone kept saying "That won't work!" - Then someone came along who didn't know that, and - just did it.
● Never put the Manual too far away: There's more in it than you think! ;-)
