Any fast method for automating a channels, expression / pan / filter

Is there a method to automate expression or pan or filter
then going into the edit menu and making new notes and changing it to expression and  changing its values

a simple example is, I want a sidechain effect (not possible on Yamaha PSR series)
so is there a software, where i can make something similar to a curve (low expression to high)

basically, I want something smooth aka automate values

How to import the style to catwalk?
How will Voice be played or its just midi in and out?
I have never used that daw... just some questions to clear
also, how to export the style...

You enter the style via MixMaster and Cakewalk is only used to record controls in the channel.
