The American group The Beach Boys released Little St Nick in time for Christmas 1963.  Band members,Brian Wilson and Mike Love, co-wrote the song, and it reached #3 in BillBoard Charts.  I hope you will enjoy my attempt at an instrumental rendition.  Thanks for listening.

Back in the autumn of 1974, I was in 5th grade and had just started getting into listening to what was then modern/pop music on the radio -- AM radio, at the time!  As Christmas of 1974 approached, I started hearing all of these great "new to me" rock Christmas songs that I had never heard before, and this was one of them.  Based on the time frame you posted, that song must have been released right around the day I was born.

Nice version and instrumentation of this song.

EDIT: I just had to see what I could find according to the release date of this song.  Wikipedia states that it was recorded on Oct 20, 1963 and then released on Dec 9, 1963.  Neither of those is my birthday, however, if those dates are correct, then it was recorded exactly 25 days before my birthday, and then released exactly 25 days after my birthday!

Hey, Bob !!!  Thanks for listening and sharing your personal note regarding pop Christmas songs with us here on the Forum.  One other note I might share with you guys is that the Beach Boys had recorded their hit single "Little Duece Coupe" just prior to "Little St Nick," and the two songs had so many similarities that some fans cried "foul ! "  Not me, though, I loved nearly every hit they ever made and still do.  My Christmas wish is to get the courage to tackle playing some of their other hits.  Best Wishes !!!

Huh, I never even realized the similarities of the two songs.  The beat is similar, but I don't really think the chord progression is.  But, even so, at least they're borrowing from their own material.  It's kind of like the Beach Boy's "Girl Don't Tell Me" and the Beatles' "Ticket to Ride".  I've seen online comparisons between the two, and yeah, now that I read that, I can see some basic similarities.  But otherwise, while I have heard both songs, one never reminded me of the other until I read about the comparison.
