I have spent about 3 hours hunting down  the style for what seems like a very simple song "love on the brain" by Rihana and having trouble finding anything that sounds decent.  I have looked for Doo-Wop and Soul ballads, can't find doo-wop and the soul are not correct.  I don't know how to use style creator as I have not graduated to that level yet.  However, it is beginning to look like maybe I should learn how to use it in order to create some of the styles that I am asking for in this forum.
For now, what I am finding does not sound correct for this song, nor does the 1/2 time temp(86) which is what I want sound correct with any style that I have.   Also is there a voice for swirling Organ?

  Thanks in advance.        Regards.            dom

Hello, I posted a request for this style 2 years ago and got no hits. I am wondering if anyone may have it to share this time around?

       Thanks  in advance.          dom

hi dom,
As you probably realize, this song (which I like very much!) belongs among so called exotic ones and for such types of songs there's usually only make it or leave it.
Actually I like this song so much (is in my music collection), that I was thinking to try making a style, but... The problem I have is, I have no idea how to later play Rihanna's very specific singing -and so I ditched the idea before even trying.

Wish you luck at searching for this style,
Bogdan

Thanks Bogdan.
I can't even find anything on the internet, so I suspect many are thinking the same as you for this one.

   All the best! dom

Hello, Dom.

I didn't know the song, however I listened to it.
Well, it's not a very complex style, if you think technically... It's always hard to make it, but not that hard on this song.
But, I just think you didn't find one, because no one wanted to spend weeks creating it so far...

It's just a 6/8 slow rock style with an emphasis on the drums. You could easily modify any 6/8 slow rock style's drums and have the style.

Good luck,

Thanks Pedro for your time and Gary, apprciate your suggestion. Going to give it a try to see if I can come up with something half decent considering my limited skills.

    Much appreciated.    Dom

Gary,
I tried the 6/8 slow rock but could not get the tempo and the right drums in sync. While the temp should be 86bpm for the song as per google that seems far too fast and slowing it down is not a good fit. My arsenal of 6/8 slow rock styles, drum kits is limited and have no doo-wop styles. I think I will have to keep surfing the web from time to time to see if this style ever becomes available. At which time of course I will be more than happy to share it.

Thanks again to all of you who have given me feedback.

    Regards      dom.

Patrick,  let me say this is a good "Catch" if you know what I mean.  Appreciate you taking the time and interest to put this style together. I now have a very good start on dressing this up with the other necessary components ie voices. The BPM of 57 is about right. Not sure why there are so many different tempos listed for this song when I google it.

   Thank so much!  Best regards!

Hi Dom, just add yours favorite voices, and effects for the guitar in style; the mixer will help you and with style creator you can add more variation; all the best Patrick  :)

dlepera

Patrick, many thanks again.
Happy Holidays to you and yours and I will enjoy this musical gift from you.

Just an FYI.  I was searching my styles the other day for something else and stumbled across this style that may be a good starting point for this song.  Style is  "Flp2 6_8MG" from this forum, using Variation B & C and then altering the voices and the best I can do with the Tempo is 94BPM. The other variation D can work but the Rhythm1 has a Standard drum kit with some clapping for which I have no understanding of why it's there or how to change it without of course shutting this Rhythm1 down.
Anyway it kind of sounds not to bad once you fine tune it. I have a long way to go with learning how to alter styles but for now things are not too bad.

For all it's worth.         Happy Holidays!!!!              dom
