Try selecting a waltz style in the ballroom section then change the voices in the Accomp section.I have done this with other styles and they can sound good.

I agree with John. There are some great waltz styles available that can be easily customized for that big band sound.

Hi Bob,
What I would do is save the brass band sound that you like to a registrations bank. Then uncheck the OTS  and call up the Waltz Style you like. You can then save each of those variations to your saved registration.. I have done this quite few times over the years.

Richard - I don't think this will work. Bob's issue is there are no big band styles in 3/4. Changing the  OTS doesn't help, that only changes the lead voice, and you can do this without an OTS anyway. What Gary is saying is to take a nice ballroom waltz style then try changing the voices in the styles to typical big band voices, like trumpets, Sax ensembles etc.

Hi Mike,

I'm sorry but it does work on the PSR Models. By cancelling the OTS Link you can then save the waltz rythym part only to the Brass Band Registration where the voices will not then be overwritten. Once done then save again and this will have the new waltz rhythm and the brass voices.

When running through Waltz styles, listen to the PATTERN found in the PHR1 and PHR2 slots. Try to imagine what the PATTERN would sound like if played by a Brass section. If you have trouble imagining when you first start out, then you will need to actual change to a brass section voice.

I recently needed to find a nice Harmonia phrasing for the song "I Still Miss Someone" by Johnny Cash. I found what I was needing in a style and changed the strings to a Harmonia voice. Experiment with your keyboard's styles, Yamaha has included what you need for just about any thing you'll need.

I don't get it, OTS only affects rh/lh voices not style voices. If you want to modify a style by changing style parts and voices OTS is irrelevant. Any modification of a style has to be saved as a new style.
I don't know what a brass band registration is. Did you mean big band style?
I think you may be misunderstanding Bobs request. He wants big band style in 3/4, not just a way to play brass voices over an existing 3/4 style.
