Hi

Is there a way that you can extract the styles normally included in expansion packs? Or a site?

Tyros 5 was my choice - now it is only Genos1 !

Install all Packs on the keyboard and then connect the keyboard as USB Storage mode. You will see all the content and you can copy Style to your hard disk.

Or just copy them from the keyboard to a USB stick.

Or just copy them from the keyboard to a USB stick.

Note that the COPY function does not work inside the Expansion folder. So you could only load each single Expansion Style and then SAVE it to another location in User drive or on a USB stick.

On Genos and Tyros5, it is much faster to use the USB Storage Mode and copy the desired Expansion content (e.g. Styles or Multi Pads) using the computer (as already mentioned by ckobu).

By the way: Styles in unprotected Packs (.ppf/.ppi) can be extracted with the PC (Windows) program "Style Extractor".

To be complete: There are also Vali's "YEM Content Explorer" that can extract Styles from .ppf Packs that are already imported into the YEM (but no need to install it on the instrument). And there is Jørgen's program "Style in YEP/PPI Files" that also can extract Styles, however, to my knowledge, only from .ppi (and old .yep) files, but not from .ppf files.

Best regards,
Chris
● Everyone kept saying "That won't work!" - Then someone came along who didn't know that, and - just did it.
● Never put the Manual too far away: There's more in it than you think! ;-)

You can use YEM Content Explorer (YEM-CE) to extract the styles from packs loaded  in YEM.

Here's the thread where you can read about and find a link to the FREE program.  YEM-CE has other nice features too.

PS: Since pack styles use the pack Voices, you will have to re-voice many of them.  So It might be a good idea to actually load the pack into your keyboard so you can hear how they sound, then remix the styles and save them as user styles.
