Yamaha has launched a new model PSR-A5000. This is an oriental version of the PSR-SX900. There are Arabic scales and other features used in oriental music. See the Yamaha website.

It has Revo! SFX Arabic kits. Not the watered-down version, but since the voice is branded as Revo! SFX, it's safe to assume it has wave cycling just like the Genos.

The A5000 is apparently available at "musicstore.de" (Germany) and "dv247.com" (UK). Estimated delivery date (to stock) is indicated with April 25 or 26, 2021:

The keyboard sounds amazing. I will have my PSR-A3000 as a backup.
Amazon says that on may 7 the PSR-A5000 will be releaced. However I don't know if I will purchase it on that date, or as a birthday or chrismas present.

Hard to say when these problems will be solved.

I guess I forgot to post on this thread when we had stock (we received 3 , May 6th of 2021) and all 3 sold immediately, but I was able to play with one for a month.
It's not the PSRsx900 architecture, it's the PSRsx600/DGX670 architecture, with a *ton* of added Oriental sample sets added on, 2GB that acts as a hard drive and a 1 gb flash ram (that is the same as the sx900). But it's missing all the T4/T5 sounds from the PSRsx900 (and a lot from the sx700) since it's based off the sx600. But with 1 interesting quirk: it can also load Audio Styles (which aren't possible on the sx600/sx700)

Speakers are also *not* the 4 way 50w speakers from the sx900 (they sounded the same as the sx700 speakers).


It's still popular enough that the 2nd shipment still hasn't arrived (it was due in June, we're still waiting!)

As far as I know it can take approx. six months before goods will be received.

It is a terrible situation and I hope and pray the arrival of ordered goods will be much sooner.

Hi everyone.

My experience: ordered a SX900 in May 2021. Arrived... today. So we're talking about a full 5 months wait. More or less what Jeff has said. And I'm sure if I hadn't pay for the reservation price I would still be waiting.

As far as I can see you need to: 1) make the reservation with the shop; 2) the shop places your request with Yamaha; 3) Yamaha gives the shop an estimated delivery date; 4) the shop asks you to pay a reserve price; 5) you wait....; 6) you receive the keyboard. Ufff....  A long way to go, but you have to start some day.

If you dont follow this route it will be very difficult for someone, at this time of events, to get one of these keyboards on (I know...) time.

We do not know anything about Yamaha's future plans.
It might be possible Yamaha will end the production of their high end arranger keyboards. Who knows ?

Due to the Covid 19 situation, the world has changed completely and the word " impossible " no longer exists.

Only Yamaha can answer that question ... wait and see and enjoy your present Yamaha arranger keyboard.

Being the World Leader, Yamaha have always produced super arranger keyboards, even the very old ones are still very good.

You are right ..we don't know yet how it is going with the computer chip production for the keyboards.
Don't know the impact of chip production world -wide, but with no sufficient chip production.. the world stands still.

I am satisfied with the SX600 and it was this choice to introduce myself to a new Yamaha keyboard again
Luckily the liquor store has no shortage.

Me being satisfied still with my PSR-A3000 that I have on repair, only one part was damaged, precisely the circuit board. Still waiting for PSR-A5000's next shipping since I already I have 5 years since I bought it, then sell or trade? my two older keyboards.

Recently I've downloaded the voice assistant pack for my future PSR.A5000 when ever next shipping comes. Six months! for me that's a lot of time! Well I don't know, guess I'll have to wait. But I have a question. Tryed to sell my two older Yamaha keyboards but got no responce. I did it via Facebook (now Meta) Marketplace. Shall I sell those on EBay?
