Making a Style from a MIDI

Is there software for making a Style for Genos from a MIDI file please.

This has been discussed many times. You may want to do search. But the consensus was that there is software that claims it can make a style from a midi, but that it doesn't work well. You are left with a lot of editing, so much that some thought it was easier to start from scratch, or another style.

It can be done and if you put in the time you can get a style from the trial and error process. It was impossible to know where to CUT the midi section I needed and could use.

Here is the ONE and only midi to style that I created. It is the song "Home" by Michael Bublé

The only right hand part that I play in this song is the instrumental section. The rest of the song I just need to chord my way through it and change to the different Mains.

I spent the time to understand the program but the long hit and miss process of where to cut the midi was crazy. Never again, once was enough for me. 

I can create a quicker and just as good (maybe better) custom style by going through and finding the needed parts in existing Styles. For needed custom one of a kind Breaks needed, I make them myself.

Drake - I have never tried it myself, but what you describe is exactly what I would have expected. People seem to think that somehow the style created from a midi will be an accompaniment more like the original recording. But the fact is that a style is a very small repetitive accompaniment, and a typical recorded arrangement is not. The style created from the midi at best can only ever be an approximation of a very small selected part of the original recording. And isn't that what most styles are in the first place - so what are you gaining?
You did a really nice job on this one,-  but like you said, you could probably have achieved similar results other easier ways.

There should be a program for this somewhere.  Korg has a built in midi-to-style converter bot.  It works pretty well, but sometimes needs a little editing.  It takes about 60 seconds to convert.  It works particularly well with the old Tune 1000 midi files.   It automatically creates four variations, three intros, a break, the appropriate fills and three endings.
They've had it for years, so I'm just thinking there should be some software somewhere to do it.
I use a number of styles I've converted this way, but the Korg styles would have to be converted to Yamaha format to be of any use here.

Great!  I knew there had to be something.  I just never looked for it.

Styles that are called Song Styles are available, I think there must be a program to make them, maybe there is just a way to extract them from a midi file.  Probably would be easier to find a similar style or go with a different style and come up with your own version of the song.

Long long time ago I wasted many hours to make styles only to find out I made something that already existed!
