MP3 files not visible

I have copied a list of MP3 files to the Genos directly from the PC.
However not all the MP3 files were visible in the Genos. I have tried it again with the use of an USB but with the same disappointing result.
When I checked the USB in the PC all the files were there but when the USB is in the Genos I still don't see some MP3 files.
The MP3's are all in the same way recorded.
Has anybody an idea what the reason can be?

Thanks in advance,
Paul

MP3 must be: 44,100 Hz / 16 Bit.
The name may be too long.
Make the name shorter.

And they must be stereo, not mono.

I asume that the length of the name will be the problem.
I will check that, thanks for your support.

Hi Paul

Yes,  make sure the the mp3 is 44.1/16 and very important that the file name is not too long, I had your problem also, spent hours converting and converting to eventually find out about the filename length issue  ::).

The lengte of the name of the file was the problem. When I changed that the problem was solved.

Hi Paul,

for your information: The Genos Owner's Manual says on page 40:

A file name can contain up to 46 characters and a folder name can contain up to 50 characters.

Best regards,
Chris
● Everyone kept saying "That won't work!" - Then someone came along who didn't know that, and - just did it.
● Never put the Manual too far away: There's more in it than you think! ;-)

Hi,
I have the same problem this week, downloaded mp3 files from the same source that I have been using for years no problem!
Out of the 40 tracks only 16 would show on genos, tried different usb sticks, still the same.Been in touch with yamaha support and the source, very helpful in explaining the tech issues with Genos and MP3 files, as regarding the titles some of the long ones load ok,but the short characters do not. All the files show on the usb and play on my PC? tried all the ports too! will try to send the file that wont load on my Genos to support and see if they have a problem on another Genos to eliminate the problem!
