Hi, I am looking for a home PA system for my Tyros 5 and Genos, instead of the TRS-MS05. Budget approx. 800 euro. What do you recommend?

You might as well have asked what people's favourite colour is :)

It's very subjective. You really need to hear for yourself, which I realise is very difficult just now.

is it important to you to have a separate subwoofer.

I think Derek nailed it, its a really subjetive thing, many good quality brands, go to the store(s) , and listen to them, buy the one you like how sounds... but subwoofer its a must, the bigger, the better XD

Newkey20 had asked about "a home PA system". The designation "PA" brings to mind something different than the suggestions thus far and it may help if Newkey20 came back and described the intended usage, whether it be just a pair of speakers/monitors for listening to for his own enjoyment in a living room or one or a pair of powered "PA" speakers that could be set up in ones backyard for an occasional family party or similar event.

Then again perhaps it's just a terminology usage of PA versus speaker/monitor  :)

What I would consider "PA" speakers...

The sound system is to be used for listening at home for me and small parties in small rooms.

What is it specifically about the TRS-MS05 that you don't like? My PA's are 2000W each and out of your price range for the pair and sub. But there are others on the forum who have substituted the "standard" Yamaha speakers with well-known makes of speakers from manufacturers who specialize in speakers, and they seem to be very happy, and why wouldn't they. You should probably go somewhere when possible and take a listen and see what you like, i.e., try and buy when it is convenient. Other than that, popular is not always the best, but it's a start and probably better than nothing.

For my Genos, I use a pair of Yamaha Hs-8 powered monitors, with K&M stands.

It's a perfect setup. You don't need subwoofer. Sound is crispy and powerfull.

Directly connected, without mixer.

Very high quality/price ratio.

Will the Yamaha HS-8 also be good for small parties ?

MadrasGiaguari

Yes, no doubts at all.

But if you need to transport, they are not the ideal, as they are designed to stay in a studio, or any other fixed setup (like at home also).

To move them, you should organize very protective bags...

.....if you need to move outside of your house, you could consider Yamaha Stagepas 400 (very handy) or 600 ( a little heavier), which I used to enjoy (not exactly the same quality as Hs-8, but still quite good).

Price is in the same range of Hs-8, and they have a very convenient built-in mixer with basic effects, and cables.

For the kind of use you describe a pair of 6 inch powered monitor speakers should be great. Lots of oomph, good looking, easily portable and plenty bass without a bass woofer.
There are many choices out there from quality manufacturers well within your price range - M-audio, JBL, KRK, etc. You probably can't go far wrong with any of the name brands, but final choice on sound and look is personal, so get out and look /listen. You could probably even go to 8 inch powered monitors within your price range.
The surround sound computer systems from people like Logitech are great value and sound good but I personally never liked the messy nature of so many small speakers and interconnecting wiring.

I have been using EVE Audio SC 207 for almost three years. The previous ones were Adam T7V, but my desire to get a strong electric piano from the PSR S750 keyboard, as it would sound in larger PA speakers, was still too much for this 20w tweeter. I believe that if I tried the same with Genos now, there would be no problem - Genos just has such good, soft and dynamic pianos. To listen to everything else, Adam T7V was good, there was no lack of bass. As I said - only my special wish to rape a tweeter with a cheap e-pianos, highlighted the lack of power in the upper frequency band. I think the HS8 could be  suitable for a universal home speaker, although I haven't tried it myself.
