Well, who knows?. Just guessing... ;)

I really hope there is a new firmware version for current Genos soon, if they are going to keep this model for a year or so more. If COVID pandemic had not happened, we could have already a Genos 2 and perhaps a Montage 2

All in all, the instrument is not the limiting factor in my case, so I am happy with first version Genos and Montage  ;D

Hm.

Your title suggests that this thread is about a surprise announcement so I clicked on it in anticipation. Turns out you are just wondering about it. I would have appreciated it if you had used a question mark instead of an exclamation...

Hmmm I doubt that there will be such an announcement. If Yamaha had wanted to launch a Genos 2, they wouldn't have announced the DGX 670 at NAMM. We'll have to wait until next year I'm afraid. The pandemic is putting everything on hold.  :(

Well, as I commented, I am not in a hurry. Keyboards like Genos and Montage are so powerful these days that the player should be very good to be limited by it. And of course it is not my case  ;)

I think the member was only enquiring if we thought there would be something coming along in the future It was not a false statement.

I believe that yamaha will implement the MIDI 2.0 interface which will be official in 2021.

They will. But it won't be on any existing keyboard. It will be incorporated into new ones, though.
