Need US Dealer recommendation (must know SX900 product -- not just sell it)

Hello,

I want to purchase a new PSR-SX900.  Anyone, including Amazon, will sell me the keyboard but aftersales support is slim.  I'm looking for a dealer that knows the product, how to use it,  and will be helpful after the sale is complete. Can you recommend such a USA Yamaha certified dealer?

TIA, 61fingers

P.S.  I'm interested in learning basic stuff like how to use the Yamaha Package Manager, what packages are available, prominent 3rd party companies that offer products I should know about, help unscrambling OTS, multipads, packages, styles, Songs, MusicFinder, foot pedals for volume control and moving between registrations etc... all these things are presently jumbled in my mind. I need a "101" level course in SX900 technology.

Regardless of which dealer you choose, you're better off getting your advice here. Here you have hundreds of potential helpers who are very knowledgeable. Even the best dealer can't match that level of support.

Finding a good dealer with good prices and ethical customer support is important to many people, but the chances of finding someone to provide what you are looking for ie almost personal lesson level support is probably nil. As fred says, you can get that here,....  and you experiment, look at the manuals, internet videos, learn as you go  ..... same as the rest of us.

You could try Guets are not allowed to view links. In order to access the links, please Register or Login Fort Wayne Indiana. Nick LaMendola is the guy for keyboards and very helpful.

61fingers,

I'll throw out a suggestion to at least take a look at Guets are not allowed to view links. In order to access the links, please Register or Login

Mike Mixon, in Delaware. He specifically has created bundle packages for the Genos and SX-900, and includes a USB stick with songs and settings.
He also has a YouTube channel with numerous videos where he demonstrates and explains how to play either keyboard.

I haven't personally bought through him, but am considering getting his SX-900 book bundle.
Good luck,   Jerry

Sweetwater is an online retailer where they take a very active approach. You are assigned a representative who is knowledgeable in your product and keyboards in general. They are available to you long after you purchase the product as well, (albeit they do want to sell to you again). They are available to you by email or phone and even reach out to you proactively from time to time.  My experience so far has been very positive over the last 15 months. (I purchased only a SX700 in Oct 2019, yet I feel like they are treating me as if I purchased a Genos).

That is my experience and perception. Yours may be different. But I do think they are worth a look.

Hello 61 Fingers,

Mike Mixon at Guets are not allowed to view links. In order to access the links, please Register or Login

Go to his website and you won't be disappointed

he has a lot to offer when it comes to the sale and, more importantly AFTER the sale.

Ive bought book bundles from Mike. I would buy a genos from him right away if it wasn't for the fact that I am a Canadian and a purchase is difficult during covid. He's a true friend for Yamaha players

Thats where I would start looking

Best regards

Ron
