Hello everyone,

In 2018 Richard uploaded his MP3/CDG library of songs to Google drive and shared that out for everyone on this forum to download for free. He also wrote some software called Backing Track Maker (BTM) for making backing tracks and shared that out to everyone for free. In addition, the backing tracks we make every week are being shared out for free. All our cover song are also shared on YouTube.

We have made some changes to our whole operation recently to help us manage everything a little better:
-- Firstly we have created a Google group called RLMUSIC Project (same name as the YouTube channel)
-- We are sharing all our files through this group. The files are still available for free but people have to be a member of the group to have access to the files. The files include BTM backing tracks and software as well as the whole MP3/CDG library.
-- We would love people to also subscribe to our YouTube channel but that is optional.

-- To join our group you need to have a google account.
-- Then find our group by searching for https://groups.google.com/g/rlmusic-project
-- Ask to join the the group.
-- Once you are a member, you can go to our website and download any of the contents.

I hope this all makes sense to you. I confess I don't understand it all. Richard is the technical person, I am just the messenger.

Hmmmm. There is nowhere on that link you gave  where you can ask to join the group.  Messenger:-  did you check the link yourself?

Free is free, but having to jump hoops is not free.
Sorry, all these additional requirements; you lost me.

If you are wanting to build up your social media channels,
why are you using this forum to do it? Free is free!

And why isn't Richard on this forum? I know Richard has
a mouth, because he made all the instructional videos.

What are the NEXT requirements for this "free" software?

Hello everyone,

I am the messenger because Richard was banned for life from this forum for making some comments about Donald Trump. When I first joined this forum I was immediately banned as well because I was using Richard's computers. My ban was lifted after we wrote to Joe Waters. Richard is active on other forums.

All our files and software are indeed free but using them is optional. We want to track how many people are using them so the group was started. So far a number of people have already joined the group so the link does work.

which user name do you need here? Can a new user choose any username? Or do I have to specify a valid user name of a GOOGLE account?

Without Google registration you cannot access the group, right?

Hi Chris,

We need an email address and a gmail address is preferred but, as I understand it, you can use any email address.

In your first post I have overlooke the note "-- To join our group you need to have a google account."

So now I know: If a user does not have a Google account, he must first register with Google.


I already have a Google account, which I currently only use to log into YouTube. I don't have a gmail account either and therefore use an email address from another provider for my Google account.
