Hi guys links are offline now ... but I had time to download them.
Once extracted with Style Extractor there are only these two styles that are not loaded correctly on the SX900 (the styles extracted from the SX700 Brazilian Pack). All the others are perfect ...
But whit CapitalBrownRockBR.STY and Elec Free Play 2.STY an error appears on the display and they are not read by the SX900.
it's strange because the other Elec Free Pay 1 is perfect (by the way it is one very nice style).
if they work for you can shared them?
PS :With Style Works XT Universal I corrected the styles but I "lost" the OTS and Intro 2 and 3  :o

Al Ram

it looks like the links are off line and not available anymore ?

Will try again tomorrow.

thanks for the notice.

Hi Folks: I have a worst problem, When I try to open the links, I receive This message, "Page not found
Sorry, there is no webpage matching your request.
The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable."

overover

As already mentioned above, the direct download links for "Brazilian Pack 3" and "Bachata Brasil" are OFFLINE at the moment.

There were various inconsistencies / errors in the previous versions of these Packs. Presumably these are being corrected by Yamaha at the moment. When the downloads are available again, we will post it here.

Best regards,
Chris

Hi Julio,

could you post here the new links you got to download "Bachata Brasil" Pack and "Brazilian Pack 3"?

Right now I can't figure it out ...

Hi Francesco,

thank you very much for posting these new links to download the now fixed versions of the new Brazilian Packs! :)

P.S.
What I just noticed: The different versions of these two Packs for the individual keyboard models all have the same Pack name in the YEM. For this reason, you cannot import a particular Pack in multiple versions into the YEM (e.g. Genos and SX900 version).

Chris

HI guys,
I was able to download all the packs before going offline. From the ppi files I have extracted all styles. I counted 94 different styles. most of the styles came from the SX700 ppi packs ... more styles seem to have nothing to do with Brazil  ::)  (many were from the Mexican Banda Pack)
I tried to create a single Brazilian Pack ... but I have a problem
To this pack I would like to add the missing voices of the Bachata Pack SX900: 1) LatinAccForS.vce 2) LatinAccSuper 3) PercussionBR Kit.lsf
and all those of the Brasilian Pack SX900.
But I can't use YEM (note that my pack is not cpf but ppf) so I don't understand why I can't add .vce voices (YEM only allows importing .uvn or .uvd voices).
Can any of you with more experience succeed in this? if so how? thank you and good music
Pietro

Misu

Hi,

Your Brazilian pack is indeed PPF but other 2 (Brazilian v2 and Bachata) are CPF (nothing to do with these just install and use)
For SX 900 YEM doesn't accept factory sounds like VCE.

Thank you for the download links but the genos link for the bachata pack is not good.

Thank You for the links they all work for the SX900 & they both install into YEM. ;D

Hi Misu, so all the SX900 (.vce)  files that I have in a folder of the PC, can be used (loaded on the keyboard) only from USB? Is there no possibility to import them into YEM or to create a .ppf file of voices only? Thanks for this.
Pietro

PS For SX900 owners these styles were included in the ppi file of the SX700's Bazilian pack. They are not present in the SX900 pack if you are interested they are at this link

@Aquilauno
Hi Pietro,

.vce files are only so called "Voice Set" file (also known as "User Voice" files). These files do not contain any Samples but only setting data.

User Voices are created when you save a Preset or Expansion Voice to the User drive or to a USB stick from the Voice Selection display or from the Voice Edit display (called "Voice Set" on older models).

Generally, such User Voices can only be used in Keyboard Parts (not in Styles, MIDI files or Multi Pads).

.vce files can also be found in the folders of your installed Expansion Packs inside the "Expansion" folder on the internal User drive. These .vce files are used to call up the installed Expansion Voices (using the Voice Selection display).

Note: User Voices can have many different file extensions. I recently made this list (that can be found on several websites meanwhile ;) ):

.vce .VCE = Regular
.liv .LIV = Live!
.clv .CLV = Cool!
.swv .SWV = Sweet!
.nlv .NLV = S.Art! (Tyros5)
.sar .SAR = S.Art!
.sa2 .SA2 = S.Art2!

.mgv .MGV = MegaVoice
.org .ORG = Organ Flutes

.drm .DRM = Drums
.ldr .LDR = Live!Drums
.sfx .SFX = SFX
.lsf .LSF = Live!SFX

In conjunction with the YEM, you can do ... NOTHING with those User Voice files. ;)

What you CAN do: You can copy the files onto a USB stick or to the User drive and use the files to call up the INSTALLED Expansion Voices (instead of using the .vce files in the "Expansion" folder, e.g. to make a "Favorite Voices" folder).

-----

How to make a PACK with your favorite Expansion contents:
    - First of all: You can do the following only with unprotected Packs (.ppf).
    - Just select the desired contents in a certain Pack and export it as a new .ppf Pack (using the function "Export Selected Content as Pack).
    - Then create a new, empty Pack and use the function "Import Content" to import several .ppf Packs you made before into the new Pack.

Important: When you have finished your new Pack, SAVE it in .ppf format. If you don't do this, you cannot re-import the Pack into the YEM later if needed (for example because of an error with the YEM).

Hope this helps!

Best regards,
Chris

Hi Chris, very interesting. I was convinced that installing a pack would add styles, drum kits and voices not present on the keyboard (thus expanding the pre-installed ones). Taking a practical example ... The installation of Brazilian Pack 3, adds new styles (like VaneraRomantica), drumkit (like Brasilkit1, but doesn't add new voices to the pre-installed ones ?. Yet when I read the specifications of a Yamaha Expansion Pack that I want to buy is mentioned the n ° of new styles, the n ° of new drumkit and the n ° of new voices (?!) this confused me. I was convinced that they were samples and not just setting data, in practice they are not voices new but processing of data already present in the keyboard. This is why if a Mega sound, not present in the SX900 it will be loaded but will not be played by Right 1, 2, 3 ...
Thank you for expanding my limited knowledge.

ps: why the 1004 MB of the Voices Wave Size ... decrease significantly by selecting the various Voices. Data files should not be small in size?

EileenL

Voices from packs are not added to pre installed ones. You select them from the Expansion voice folder
by pressing the Expansion/User button

Hi Pietro,

when Expansion content ist installed on the keyboard (using the "Pack Install" function and the .cpi or .ppi file created before with the "Save as Pack Install File" function of the YEM), the following happens:

The Wave samples of the Expansion Voices are automatically saved in the internal Expansion Wave memory (which has a size of 1024 MB on the SX900). This memory is basically of the same type as the Wave memory in which the samples of the Preset Voices are stored (so-called "NAND Flash Memory", a type of memory from which the data can be read out very quickly). The only difference is that the Preset sample data CANNOT be changed by the User. The installed Expansion Voices can be used in the same way as Preset Voices, but they are not accessed via the Preset button in the Voice Selection display, but via the Expansion button (as already mentioned by Eileen before).

All other contents of the individual Packs (except for the Wave samples) are automatically copied into the corresponding subfolders of the Expansion folder during the Pack Installation. (The Expansion folder is actually in the User drive. But you can only access it via the Expansion button in the file selection displays, NOT via the User button.)

While the Pack Installation, a .vce file is also automatially created for each Expansion Voice. This file is automatically copied into the respective Pack subfolder in the Expansion folder. These .vce files will later be shown in the Voice Selection display when you press the Expansion button there and select a Pack folder. So they are used to call up the Expansion Voices. The Voice Set data required to (automatically) generate these .vce files come from the .uvf files contained in each Pack file (.ppf/.cpf). These .uvf files (which are programmed in "XML") are not visible to the user. In the case of unprotected packs (.ppf), however, they are directly available as individual files in the YEM User folder ("C: \ Users \ <YourUsername> \ AppData \ Local \ Yamaha \ Expansion Manager \ Packs \").

I hope my hints help to bring some "light into the dark" ... :)

Chris

Wow!
great explanation ... Thanks Chris, Eileen

so in the case of a .ppf pack I can load it in YEM and manage all the Styles, Voice and Drumkit, save everything, or  just a group of these, exporting them to a new .ppf file and then
import them into another pack. In this case (.cpf) I can't do it. So I can't create a single Brasilian expansion pack, whit all Styles, voices end Brasilian drum kit... :'(
(as I managed to do with mexican banda and mariachi / norteno ... which were all in .ppf)

I see a little light at the end of the tunnel  ;D

Hi Niceonetidy,

could you please describe the problem in more detail?

If I understand you correctly, you have imported the Packs into the YEM, and all contents are displayed there (both under "My Packs" and also when you click on your "Install Target" (e.g. Genos)).

It is now important that you select all the Packs that are to be installed on the Genos. Did you use the Wi-Fi connection to install the Packs on the instrument ("Send to Instrument" button) or did you use a USB stick ("Save as Pack Install" button) and then the "Pack Install" function on the instrument ?

And what exactly do you mean by ...

When you have installed the Packs on the Genos as described above, press "User > Expansion" and the folder of the desired Pack in the VOICE Selection display. You should now see all the VOICES in this Pack.

To see the STYLES, open the STYLE Selection display, press "User > Expansion" again and the desired Pack folder.

Please tell me where exactly your problem is now!

I'm very disappointed with Yamaha for not providing these Brazilian packs also for tyros users, especially tyros5.
It's not fair that a keyboard like this, which is difficult to acquire in Brazil, does not have this compatible content.
I downloaded all available packs and not even the latin pack comes so close, on the contrary: The percussion sounds used are not so explored.
Has anyone had the idea of adapting the free ppf packs already released by yamaha for these keyboards?
It's just the outburst of a tyros5 user who wanted to have Brazilian content as well.
To play international music, I have more than enough.
But to play Brazilian music with quality instruments and styles, no.
PS: I know that Onacimus has converted several of these styles, but they are lacking proper instruments and some styles have percussion and audio drums.
I'm not criticizing his conversions, quite the contrary! It greatly expanded my arsenal of styles.
But typically Brazilian sounds and styles I still lack.
