I understand this great tool is only available for MAC, right ?

IMHO this DAW is one of the best, or maybe the best, to create pro music at home, right ?
Is there a win DAW available that has almost all Logic Pro X features ?

I have the impression it does not exist ... or am I wrong ?

Your comments would be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance, Babette

WOOOOOOOOW !!! :) :) :)

Many thanks for this great link, Roger !
You made my day.

Wished I could contact people who have some Logic Pro X win experience and knowledge.
Maybe there is a Logic Pro X Forum ?

IMHO it is a great DAW and maybe the best.
I have a lot of experience with Cakewalk ( Sonar ) but I have the impression Logic Pro X is offering a lot more than Cakewalk and Cubase for home users ( like me ). Maybe I am wrong ... time will tell, I guess.

Again, thank you so much for your help !

Best regards,

Hi Babette

There is no such thing as Logic for Windows.

You have to set up a dual boot system so that your PC can run Windows AND OSX

https://youtu.be/JP8oOXvYVv8

You will still need to buy the Full version of Logic at £200

The link will show some of the great features.

Hi Bill :

Thank you for your input. Very much appreciated.

IMHO it is very risky to create a pc with a dual OS system ( Win and Mac ) for a simple pc user like me.

Maybe it might be better to buy an additional Mac pc and install the original MAC prog ?

There is a saying... "It's not what you've got: it's how you use it"

A good example is a professional player can make an el cheapo keyboard sound good. We can have the "best" software in the world and still NOT get good results, if we don't know how to use it. Another example is so much can be done right on our arranger without software if we learn how the keyboard is designed and make use of all its capabilities.

The more I learn about my S970, the more I appreciate Yamaha's genius in its design. It's not perfect, but Yamaha know what its doing for sure. It's too bad there isn't better documentation... so much is left out of the manuals.  It goes back to the premise:  "It's not what you've got: it's how you use it"

I absolutely agree with this saying.  :)

However, this saying is not only valid for music software but also for instruments like synths and arranger keyboards, IMHO.

After watching the two video's, I think Logic Pro X looks to be a very good DAW and usable for our arrangers but like all other DAWS it is not " a plug and play " software prog.

Hi Babette ,

I'm a Mac Guy and own/use many Mac DAW's such as Logic Pro X .

You may want to check out the DAW Metro .  Actually that program started out as an Window program and then was ported to a Mac version .  It is very much similar to Apple's Logic .  I use Metro full  and the LX versions for Mac .

If I;ve done this correctly here is the URL : https://www.sagantech.com/      ( you may have to copy paste that URL address into your browser ) .

I used Logic before before Apple bought it 2002 and it was available for Windows. Switched to Cubase after that and haven't looked back, but I would probably had stayed with Logic if it didn't forced me to change OS as well.

No matter what DAW you decide to use, you will need to invest lots of time to learn it and that is probably why people stick with the DAW they have learned.
The good news is that there are so many tutorials out there for most of the different DAWs and many of them are free.

Good luck

Logic is the simply best reason to own a Mac. If you are technically extremely affine, you can "convert" a PC to a Mac. These machines are called "Hackintosh".

A comparable(!) DAW software on Windows costs 300 - 500 EUR. Add 100 EUR for updates every 1-2 years.

The price of Logic is 230 EUR. Since many years, a lot of free updates with tons of new functions and sounds are published by Apple.

This relativizes the additional costs for a Mac considerably.

Logic Pro and XCode are coming to the iPad Pro either in 2020 or 2021.
