Good day friends,I am trying to find instructions on how to record an intro and then adding it to an existing style

As an example, I am working on a style for Just a Gigolo, a well known song which you likely have heard before.
There are three intros with the style that don't work in this case; so I would like to record the last four bars of the song, insert it into the intro lineup, say in intro 1 and continue into the tune.

This intro is known as the four bar intro; used quite often by players all over the globe.

I am hoping to get some insight here on the forum

Regards, stay safe and keep well

I made a video for this process yesterday. Look and ask me if you are interested in something else.

I have not looked at the video in the reply post, but you cannot simply record an intro and insert it into the style. You have to use style creator and lay this down part by part. Its not that simple if you have no experience of style creator.

Ron,

Why not just play the intro? Wouldn't that be simpler?

Mike, I agree, it's not easy if you work in Style Creator. In my video, I have shown the process in a different way, but a computer must be used. It seems to me that anyone can do this with a little exercise.

I agree. In fact, the intro may not need to be any more than 4 bars of just the style playing - if it's a good and suitable style.

thanks everyone for your swift responses

I have been brushing up on style creator lately, since I have way too much time on my hands.

That is where I got the notion that I could actually attempt to do this intro building thing in the first place

I looked at the video and realized that this is not even possible at the tyros 5 itself.Hats off to ckobu , he seems to understand techie things.

Fred.  That's exactly what I do .  I play the four bar intro as as written in the final four bars of the song.

Mike. Thanks for agreeing with Fred.

my problem is solved..One cannot and should not fix what ain't broke.

Ron,
I suspect there are probably MANY who lurk here in the forum who have thought about doing what you first set out to do and then reach the same conclusion as yours above!  I know I did when I started in 2012.   The beauty in this conclusion is that "man dominates the machine" and not vice-versa!!

Another way . PadMaker Midi and take Intro from Midi File to make a Pad.

Load your style and then go to style creator. Select the intro you want. Now Delete all parts and set it to 4 bars. Now you can record your parts you want for your intro matching the voices that the rest of the style uses. You can quantize each track if needed. Play it back and if happy with it save it.
I have done this many times and it is not hard to do.
