Interested to know if Tyros 4 owners here use the Music Finder, Just Registrations or a combination of the both.

Same as Paula.  Never ever used music finder.  Only use registrations.  Some 8 buttons to one song and some 8 buttons covering one general style say, 60's Pop which can be used for various numbers.  Furthermore, I hardly use any Yamaha on-board styles.  Most of the styles I use are imported, many from the PSR Forum.  I never use the OTS.  All my voices are built into the registrations.

Overall, I have about 250 useful registrations (8 buttons each).

Most everyone uses either, but not both.

I started out using the Music Finder, but then switched to registrations.

I use music finder just as a base to construct my registrations..it is just a basis setting for a song ( some good some bad records IMHO )
Worth checking out the available options for a song as a starting point..
MF files I think are a good base but you do need to convert to regis and tweak for the optimum effect you are wanting.
Bit like a rough outline an artist would use.
I use them all the time and have converted all the tyros UK records to use as basic registrations on my SX900

I never use it because unlike my genos did..
T4 doesn't save transpose...as a singer/player this is a must...
using Registrations is a better choice in this regard.
an update would have fixed this but I am still waiting.

I would not use it to 'register' settings ....that's after all what registrations are available for ..
The name, I would have thought gives it away... its a 'finder' not a 'keeper' and thats what i use it for.

Although this does NOT relate to this topic -
MFD files are easily converted from Tyros to use on Genos and SX with each record providing a single registration with an empty bank to edit and resave each to. plus a playlist if wanted.... I really like this idea and find I can continue to use my MF records from Tyros and find MF a real Godsend.
I would still be using MF if I owned a T4 ....well, for its intended purpose.
