How to save r1,r2 r3 sounds together to user...

If I create a sound using R1,R2,R,3 together,..  How do I  save r1,r2 r3 sounds together to user...
so next time I need it in a reg I can get to it etc.. and create a bank of user sounds...

panos

But you already have said it yourself.
Save this combination of 3 voices to a registration button.

As long as they are there, you can copy-paste them to another registration in the future or to a style's OTS.

Panos explained it.

Here's how to do it:
1. Create a new Registration with any style and Multi Pad located on your User Drive or USB stick
2. Create your OTS with the 3 Voices (R1,R2,R3) and save to a registration button.
3. Do the same for the other 7 (or 9 for the Genos) reg buttons
4. Save the registration bank... give it a name such as: Favorite OTS

DELETE the style and Multi Pad from your User Drive or USB drive. Now when you select each button of your Favorite OTS registrations you will have your layered "User Voices" saved to the registrations.

5. Now load any style you wish to use those favorite OTS.
6. Select a Main Section on the style
7. Now select the OTS (3 Voices) you want to use for that Main Section (you may have adjust the Volumes on each Voice)
8. Save the OTS for that style Main Section
9. You can do the same for the other 3 OTS for the style.

You can create as many Favorite OTS this way as you like. You can have as many registration banks of OTS with "layered" voices as you want.

BTW... If you load the Favorite OTS Reg AFTER you have loaded a style... the style and assigned Multi Pad with the style will remain and not change because the Favorite OTS registrations will not be able to find the style and Multi Pad you DELETED when you created the registration.

I hope this makes sense.

Good Luck with it!

The 'user banks' is called 'Registrations'

DNJ, your on the right path, let's say you have Big Band R1+R2+R3 voice combinations, saxes, brass etc, then save as a registration including FX, Harmony etc. and name the registration 'Big Band'. When you hear good BB sounds as you go then add them to this registration.you can save 8 totally different voice combinations in one registration bank.

Next time you want to do a 'Big Band' song load this registration.
You will have 8 ready to go voice combinations,

Now you can change the style, tempo etc.
Save the registration in the song name, eg. 'Ain't Misbehavin'

You will still have the original BB registration ready for the next BB song.
I have voice registrations ready to go for - BB- Ballads - Bossa's - piano/guitar etc

let me try to explain further......

on our Tyros keyboards we have sound banks with different categories,
piano, EPiano, saxophone, Guitar etc, etc,....these are factory sounds
you simply press the button and all the sound in that bank are listed there...
I want to create a User bank besides all the factory sound banks  where I can save all MY user sounds...
being a single, double or 3 sounds together saved within that bank
so I can use them when needed as i do with the factory sounds....
hope this makes sense?

Pino

Never heard if it.
Sound banks are for single sounds

What's wrong with registrations?

Your just being stubborn and unwilling to learn from the several people who have of tried to help you.  I edited my post above to include Multi Pad which you delete along with the style file after you create the OTS registrations. You can create banks of 8 User sounds consisting of 1, 2, or 3 layered Voices... tweaked just the way you want.

On my psr units thete was a button on the right side next to the sounds  that said User?

EileenL

I like to tweak some on board voices in the voice edit section and then save them into a folder I have made called USER voices. I give them a name before I save them..
It is now easy to save your registrations using these by selecting the USER voice section and using a combination of these sounds, This is the only way to do it.

I don't own a T4 but it should be there.  The User Voices are just a single Voice that has been modified. To create User Voices with a combination of 2 or 3 Voices together, you will have to go the registration bank route... there is no other way.

There is an Expansion/User Voices button on the PSR but it is for leading you to the expansion pack voices and to some edited voices you can save there but the space is very very limited.

You can edit a voice and save it on the limited USER area or the USB area (which is not so limited so we prefer to save "stuff" in this area better)
but you cannot save combinations of voice there.
You can save just a single one voice at the time. Not so handy and less useful than saving combinations of voices in Registrations or on the OTS of a style.

I'm just beginning to think that you returned all them top of the range keyboards because you did not understand them,

There are always "work arounds", looks like your making problems for yourself.
Try to settle down and not think that the grass is greener somewhere else.

You always complained about the VH2 and yet you have a Harmony M
Why not connect it and get on with it.?

Why not save your panel setting to registrations, 8 per bank.? End of story.

Joe thank you for the explanation I now realize that what your saying is the only way using registrations.
I wish it wasn't so but it is what it is. Usually I would create a registration using a style.....and as I create my OTS sounds as I only use 1 reg per song......I will go back and forth to other styles copying the multi r1,r2,r3, sounds setups I like and  when I go back to the original style I will save it to the Reg I am working on if that makes sense. not so fro single sounds then I just go to the sound banks etc......
but I can see how using reg banks for favorite sounds and the FREEZE button could make it easier..

Pino thank you for your reply but please don't assume...
you are so wrong on many counts ...that is all I will say.

take care.

Hi Dnj,

you can make special "Voice Registrations":

Just make sure to have ticked only "Voice" and "Harmony" when memorizing the current settings to a Reg Memory button. (Do not forget to save the Reg BANK.)

When you call up such a "Voice Reg" later, only the RIGHT voices will change. (No need to use the FREEZE feature.)

BTW:  I recommend clearly naming such Voice Reg files , e.g. "vPianoStrings".

Best regards,
Chris

I think what DNJ is trying to do is create one new sound by layering 3 sounds. Rather than a registration with 3 sounds.

Toril S

Yes, we understand that, but unfortunately it can't be done. But registrations do the job :)

I am a pro musician for 50 years and endless lockdown looks to me like I will never play in a band again... so I am just looking at this thread killing time!

The distinction you made,, I think ( correct me if I am wrong ) goes like this
Dnj, wishes to have ( eg )  Sax  Trumpet and vibes ALL as one voice.. which is seemingly impossible.  Only trumpet on R1  Sax on R2  and Vibes on R3 and saved as a reg is the tyros way.
Do I have this correctly understood?

I use T4 as a drum machine. Playing my own acmp and bass. MIDI songs are my latest interest. If anyone wishes to share knowledge on MIDI songs let me know.

Yes, that is correct.

Do you own Genos? Did you play Tyros previously? If yes, how do you feel about the differences?

I would guess more more more... ( sounds, rhythms )

But instrumentally, do you actually strongly prefer playing eg acoustic piano sounds on Genos versus previous Tyros?

This is assuming a lot.. but I think you catch on. Thanks again.
