Back in the early 90's I had the PSR 500 and it actually had a few styles that I really liked.  Does anyone know of a way of getting those?

Thx,
NASAMike

I still do have all the styles of the PSR 550 I owned at the time. Good chance the styles you are looking for are on there as well. Let me know in a PM and give me your email address so I can have a look and send them to you.

The PSR550 styles (and many more models) is also downloadable at PRS Tut: Guets are not allowed to view links. In order to access the links, please Register or Login

Just click the title over the stylelist and a zip will download.

Hi all,

the PSR-500 was introduced 1991. This model has no USB terminal, of course, and no Memory Card slot. Therefore, i guess, its original (103) Styles are NOT available as SFF Style files, because they could not be "copied out" in any way from the PSR-500.

@NASAMike
The oldest Styles available on the Psrtutorial Style page are from PSR-730 (introduced 1997), PSR-8000 (1998), PSR-740 (1999), PSR-9000 (2000) and the PSR-550 (2001), which was already mentioned before. Maybe you can still  find some of the "good old" PSR-500 Styles there:

The PSR 600 had the exact same spec of the PSR 500 + a floppy disc drive.
Could the styles be saved / exported via floppy?

Hi psrtutsfan,

to my knowledge, the internal Styles can NOT be saved / exported via floppy disk on the PSR-600. On the floppy you can only save (up to 12) so called "Page Memory" sets (similar to Registrations).

Please refer to the pages 13 and 38 of the PSR-600 Owner's Manual:

I have some old styles from the PSR 620, PSR 630 and PSR 1700/510.  Maybe there are some styles of interest to the OP.

NASAMike,

Did you try these styles?  I'm curious if there are some that were in the PSR 500.

I tried them, thanks for uploading.
Unfortunately, these are not the ones on the PSR 500 (or SQ-16 or PSS-51 which seem to share the same styles).
The PSR 500 had terrific intros and endings, and even the variations where something unique I couldn't find in any new styles.

Styles in PSR 1700 should be very much like the ones in 500/510.  They are in a newer format though, so should work better.

Don,

I think the 510 and 1700 were 2 versions of the same keyboard.  When I owned the PSR510 I contacted Yamaha about system exclusive data sheets.  They had to contact Japan. What I received is system exclusive formats for the PSR510/PSR1700.  The 510 had no floppy drive but apparently the 1700 did.

I only remember because I had a 510.  It has a style, I think called Rocknroll, that had a perfect Bo Diddly beat.
They later dropped that style and I was able to find it years later on a collection of PSR1700 styles.  Several more good ones were there...James Brown's I Got You, Chain Gang, etc.

Doesn't look like the links had the style I was looking for.  The 500 had a style called NewAgeRock that had a very interesting opening.

Thx for all the work though!
