Pino

Ok, hang on 10 mins
I'll get my s950 out again
I have my sx900 here but that has a different OS
Back in 10 mins

pka4916

ok, I will be here.  working from home. and working on this.. good combo.
Think we're hitting the part, where I am running into problems.

Pino

Open a Song registration that you have saved on your keyboards
It should have a song name and that song PDF should be in Songbook
Tell me what song you want to set-up to work with SongBook

pka4916

it's Fernando.mid
The registration file is called   001 PAN

Pino

Not correct
Nothing to do with midi
You should have a sheet music in PDF in songbook named 'Fernando'
And ideally
Your 975 Registration should be named 'Fernando'.

pka4916

ok renamed it.  I was going of the screenshots on how to name those registration banks.  001 , 002  etc

Pino

In the registration page click on the SONG, top left
Go to the SBmidi folder
Click on the midi SB midi 1
Exit
Go to 'song creator'. 1-16
Change the values of the MSB and the Prog to match Songbook
The Prog value must be +1 from Songbook
CLick on 'save'
Enter song name, 'Fernando' click OK,
Exit Song Creator,
The midi name should be as the song name in the top left screen
Save the registration
Your keyboard is now set-up

Pino

Ok, hope that worked for you
Now it's midnight here and that's it for today
If you follow my mini tutorial you should be able to go from there.
Click on a registration button and the sheet should change in Songbook
Good luck

ok, let me work on this.

so If I get this straight.

The Registration bank, is for example called "Abba - Fernando"
Use the  01 SBmidi file for the song and change the numbers in there.
Have a pdf called Fernando.pdf   and on my keyboard the midi file also needs to be fernando.mid   then ?
or do I rename my original midi file to  01 Sbmidi.mid ?

Problem I have is that those midi names  does not save on my  975.
If I go to a different registration,  the old  midi name is still showing in there.

Edit:

I got the midi file to save now..   I needed to re-select the 1..8 first and then save it.
filled out the data for those 3 lines.  (1st one  only goes up to 127 and not 500)
but once I selected a bank  and then a preset (1..eight)  it did not switch over nor nothing is playing.

Edit 2:
According to Matthias,  I don't need those 3 numbers anymore.   All you need is the code  that you used for the Bank/registration.
so 001,  001.1, 001.2 etc
but that didn't work either.  seems like I am missing a signal somewhere. even though I see the monitor receiving commands, and I can play midi files from the ipad)

Pino

thanks.  Great selection of music and execution.

It looks like you already have a good method to load the PDF's and registrations with little or no downtime.

Just so you know, Songbook+ can automatically load the next PDF in the playlist with zero downtime.    I used this feature before, but disabled it because sometimes i do not go exactly in the same order of the playlists . . . .  depending on crowd, sometimes i change the order . . . .

Great stuff here.

I hope you guys figure it out . . . .

Have a great day.

FYI,

For the PSR 975  you don't need all those midi files and you don't use the midi wheels for the 3 items.
All you need  is

setup the code in Songbook+
and on the keyboard,  save the registration files are 001,  002,  003 etc
within those files, you can save bank 1..8 with the midi of your choose and instruments
In songbook+  you use the code field to gather those settings  by filling out 001.1  001.2 001.3 etc

I got this from the help of Matthias from Songbook, who is extremely helpful with this.
Setting up the pdf TO the keyboard,  is very easy, and not as described as some of the guides.  Those are all for the older Tyros versions.

Thought I would share.
Once I got it all to work,  I will make a guide if interested

Pka
Great news, you have everything working at last.
I have been using Songbook for many years so I am only familiar with the midi method,
if your saying that there is an easier way then we look forward to your tutorial.
