Written by Robert Wells and Mel Torme in 40 minutes back in 1945, The Christmas Song was recorded by the Nat King Cole Trio in 1946 and quickly became a huge hit in both the Pop and R&B charts.  Cole later rerecorded the song in 1953 and 1961, and the 1961 version is considered to be definitive.  In 1974, the original 1946 recording was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.  Mel Torme recorded the song several times himself, and numerous artists have covered the tune with their recordings or performances.  I hope some of you guys will like my instrumental here.
