Pc speakers with SX 900

I wonder why my computer speakers sound so much better than Yamaha's own built-in and external speakers? I have a pair of Sony, not quite cheap, and they have separate treble and bass settings, connected to the earphone jack. Even the Bose L1 can't measure up. I actually wonder if I should take them on gigs. Anyone else who has experience with this?

Ingar. Interesting that your Sony speakers are sounding good...Logitech do a very good range of speakers that are suitable performance wise for small gigging.

Have to check Logitech. My Sony SRS-D8 is quite old, but still sounds fabulous..

I use a set of Logitech Z906  and also have a set of Z623 - hooked up together to provide 700W RMS ( 1400 peak )   They are nothing less than FANTASTIC!!!

I would not change them for anything else .....cheap as chips and both sets have THX certification.

Sound AMAZING with the Yamaha SX and have done with my other boards ....Even used with a cheap KORG EK50 and they make that sound like a dream.

They are the best thing I have ever bought and I will never change them. Simply connected from headphone out .

A no brainer for a simple, cheap flexible system with all speakers individually controllable and 2 super sub woofers.

Yes - and my 623's cost around half the list price on their own site - if you check out Amazon or ebay ....etc. you can find them much cheaper than full RRP.

They really are the dogs! and the bigger 906's are even better with a more powerful woofer which i grabbed new for only £139 so i got both sets for just over £200

Bose is the best😀

Well, Bose Compacts are very good, but some of the other companies have taken the technology and improved on it.
I sold my two Compacts and replaced them with two Maui 5s.  They have deeper bass, a smoother midrange, many more controls and inputs, Bluetooth, and overall excellent sound.  The size and weight are about the same as Bose. 
Some of the other companies are incorporating effects as well. 
Bose came up with a wonderful concept and lots of companies have jumped on the bandwagon.
Oh and my Mauis are HALF the price of the similar Bose speakers. 
A few years ago, I used a set of Logitech Z2200 speakers for some small jobs.  They have excellent sub woofer.  They are now in my music room/office/studio, and are going on 10 years old.  I also have a set of Z5500s in my living room for surround sound.  I tried them for a pa system too, but they were heavier, and had five speakers plus sub to set up.
Nothing wrong at all with Logitechs for small areas, and their customer service is wonderful; maybe as good as Bose, which is excellent as well.  Once I had a problem with one of the Z2200s and called Logitech.  They asked a couple of questions on the phone, and then just sent me a new set.  They said keep the old ones!
I was able to repair the old ones by re-doing a connection and I gave or sold them to a friend who is still using them!
It's great that there are so many wonderful LIGHT WEIGHT choices for sound reinforcement these days!

Two Maui 5 in Stereo is hard to beat for sure for a smaller line array PA.

LD Systems make some great speakers...

I'm having success with a pair of QSC powered speakers----the 8-inch model.  Light weight and plenty of punch for smaller gigs.  Sounds good with either guitar/vocals or the SX 900.

Yamaha also do the new Stagepas 1K speakers which sound great.
