Hello Folks,

Many of you are all eager to install the new 2.0 version of Genos. The anticipated release date is this Friday, November 15.

Heidrun has been working frantically on a YouTube video that explains what to prepare BEFORE installing, and also the detailed installation steps that follow those preparations. This video is almost done and should be online this Friday evening (roughly). I will post an update the minute it is available.

May I recommend to watch this video PRIOR  TO INSTALLING ! I am suggesting that, because the installation will delete certain settings which you CANNOT backup in advance! And unless you remember those settings, they WILL be gone.

Don't be worried; those are not settings that will "break" something ! Those are just some settings that are a nuisance to get back if you don't remember them. To give you an example: The Keyboard Initial Touch and Joystick Settings are amongst those :-)  Most likely, Yamaha will document that in their installation guide too - but if you're like me, who plugs the new gadget into the power outlet while it is still in the box - well, you know what I mean

So stay tuned if you like - and I'll make sure to post away here as soon as Heidrun's video is online.

Have a wonderful rest of the week !  Cheers, Roland

Thank you so much for the heads up Roland!

... Who is Heidrun?

Hi Lee,

Heidrun is also a member of this forum (username "Heidrun"). :)

She is a great German musician and composer, operator of the online shop "Soundwonderland" (https://soundwonderland.de/pages/en/home.php), and she is also a great Live Demonstrator of Yamaha Keyboards.

Here is Heidrun's YT channel:

● Everyone kept saying "That won't work!" - Then someone came along who didn't know that, and - just did it.
● Never put the Manual too far away: There's more in it than you think! ;-)

Well John, if that is our only con Cern, then I just hang in there, waiting for the first hicks and the follow-up big bang  :P :P ::) ::) ;D ;D ;D

I have updated mine and the YEM with no problems. As I did not have many user settings saved the only thing I have to do is put in my own EQ settings which I have written down anyway.
Every thing else stays the same. Have tried the Super pack and there are some nice new styles and a Playlist to go with them.
  Very pleased with the update.

Playing the best I can. For as long as I last.
I am blessed with a Yamaha Genos2.
A Yamaha P225 piano connected by midi to a Roland BK7m

Hi folks,

here is Heidrun! :)

I went to bed at 6 o'clock this morning to get that video online for all those who are unsure how to install an OS upgrade or an Expansion pack like the new Genos Superior pack.
So Roland went to bed before, I guess... ;-)

Hopefully the video will be a help for many users!

Roland had a huge amount of translation work this time.
I am so thankful for his great work!

Kind regards, Heidrun

Hi Reg,
just go to time 36:10 for the english version in this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M9FsoXSHTDc&t=3729s

I don't have the Genos just watched to listen to the new styles.
I liked the "Ti Amo" style and one style that sounded suitable for the dance version of "Stranger in Paradise" by Alexander Borodin.

John take a look at Heidrun's covers and tutorials.
Wonderful tips and "tricks", brilliant sounds and amazing playing.

Reg

Thank you Rudy and panos.  Regards, Reg
