I'd like to start a voice conversation

Hi guys. Talking about the standard overdrive and distortion guitars on PSR S975 or thereabouts any keyboard really,  they never sound that great on midi files where a channel is assigned to them. What guitar sound do you use in their place? Anybody have a good tip to make the midi file sound as realistic as possible? Often I use a different type of guitar in place like pure vintage or blues warm for example. What about you? Thanks

Hi Mark,
I think for an electric guitar sound you have to use two voices.
One electric guitar with a distortion Dsp effect and as voice 2 an electric guitar with a delay Dsp effect.
So you need to record 2 channels.

I am not good at playing an electric guitar on the keyboard(never touched a real one also ) just my opinion why maybe you don't like the sound in the midi recording.
I use the on board midi recorder for my covers and haven't noticed any difference in the sound between my playing and the recording.

Distortion guitar sound of an arranger keyboard is not good
( yet ).
If one uses a DAW, VST's might be a better solution for audio recording.
I see no midi solution, maybe sf2 voices might be useful. Never tried. Do not know.
