Hi Friends,
In SX900 , there are two usb ports listed, is both of them are on the back side? I wish one of them be on the front panel which is earlier to access but that seems be not the case. From the pictures, It appears both of them on the back side.  Yamaha could have done better I guess. Please correct me if I am wrong. Does anyone know if these are USB 2.0 or higher?
Thank you all.

Unfortunately, both USB ports are on the back of the sx900...  :-[
Obecnie Yamaha Genos. Wcześniej były:

Ketron: SD5

I agree too.

But Yamaha only puts usb in front of big models like Tyros and Genos.
I also wanted the microphone controls (Volume, VH, Talk, etc.) on the front panel, but Yamaha doesn't want to make these pampering available for smaller models.

Wonder if USB hub is still working. I guess not.

To access the USB port easily, you just have to buy a USB extension cable. Then you can keep one end in the front. Keep it in the keyboard to prevent wear and tear of the USB port of the keyboard 😀

On top of that I'd say use one all the time even when you have a Genos or Tyros and are using the front usb.... Accidents happen.... and when using a(n) (short) extension cable the only things that can get damage when you bumo into the usb drive for example or by changing the drive a lot are the el cheapo cable and your usb drive and not your precious keyboard usb slot.

Peter

Using a decent extension cable for years now on quite a few Yamaha models without any problems whatsoever. So I stick to my previous post and that of Torril. I did however once broke the usb port connector by bumping into the usb drive that was attached without an extension cable and had quite a few problems getting it fixed. So hope you don't mind me saying: The ref manual can ....  8)

A few times I used a good quality usb cable, the "wav" recording stopped in the middle.
I use a short USB stick, which I don't need to keep taking and putting, even taking the keyboard inside the cover with the USB stick stuck in the keyboard.

Sometimes difficult when the USB is down the back of the keyboard
I very often use 2 USB sticks when editing in my studio
When out gigging then one USB without any extension cables is better

In my studio I use a BELKIN USB hub,
then I can easily take one USB out for editing styles on my PC

There are very short USB sticks available.

Like Enildo, I use a very compact USB stick which can stay docked in the back port all the time, even when the T5 is in the case. The USB stick only needs to be removed when I want to add or remove something on it, or make a backup of it.Although my Tyros has a front USB port, I never use it, only the one on the back.
