Hi I'm trying to create a registration using one voice in left hand EP piano and soprano sax in right voice. When I press memory button I'm checking style and voice. In 2nd reg I just need a piano. So when I press my reg button 1 no left hand voices are memorised. If I press left hold buttons that does the job but the idea of reg memory is to play exactly as you want. When I press reg button 2 the piano sound I either get the left hold still which I don't want and the correct voice. What am I pressing wrong? Thankyou.

The left voice (and hold) are part of the style group. Style must be checked in order for the left voice to be memorized.

Hi Fred. Thanks. I did check the style box, tick it but it still doesn't work. And when I untick style for second voice the left hand voices remain after I have pressed the left hand button by hand.

Sorry, it's hard to understand what you're doing.

But, to repeat,
For every registration where you want the left voice remembered, you must check the Style box.
For every registration where you want the right voices remembered, you must check the Voice box.

And, when something happens, or doesn't happen, "by hand", that's got nothing to do with a registration.

Cheers,
Fred

You should also note that the keyboard sees No checkmark as "Keep this as is when the registration is used."

For example:

Registration 1:  Style checked, voices checked.  Left: EP Piano, R1: Alto Sax, R2: Strings
Registration 2:  Style checked, voices checked.  Left: Off, R1, Clarinet, R2: EP Piano
Registration 3:  Style Not Checked, Voices checked.  Left:  Off, R1, Violin, R2: Grand Piano.

If you push Registration 1, then Reg 2, you would get what you expect, Left Off, R1 Clarinet, R2 EP Piano but
if you push Registration 1, then Reg 3, you would get Left: EP Piano, R1 Violin, R2 Grand Piano.

Because with out a check mark the keyboard doesn't make any changes to that section.

Hope that helps

Adam:

That's because the left voice on off status is part of the left voice and if the voice is not part of the registration,   there's nothing in the registration to turn it off.

Hi Mark, I don't want to appear to state the obvious but are you making sure style and voice are checked BEFORE you press Memory to save the registration? I think that could be what you are not doing?
If I was to do what you want to achieve I would set up my voices left and right, make sure the octaves are how I want them, make sure Left hold is turned off, make sure the split point is in the correct place, turn on the ACMP if I wanted it. Then I would press Memory and make sure style and voice (and anything else I want to memorise in that registration) is checked. I would then press Memory AGAIN and hold it down whilst I press Reg 1, that way everything checked is memorised in Reg 1.
I would then change the right part to piano, turn off the Left part if I don't want it on, make any other changes to sounds or styles, then press and hold Memory down whilst I press Reg 2.
Then, if I call up Reg 1 the left part should be on and everything else as I saved it, going onto to Reg 2 the Left part should be off, Right part should be piano and everything else should be as it was when I saved it.
Hope that's of some help?
Pam

Just to be clear, you press Memory first, then ensure the right groups are checked, then press the reg button you want to save.

Ok now I know what I've been doing wrong then. I have been ticking my boxes, then memory button held down whilst pressing a reg button.

markchapman1976

Also oftentimes, when I load a registration with two voices in right hand section, I have to press registration key twice to get the second voice to appear as memorised. Again not sure why it doesn't work with one push of button. Anybody know? The correct voice is remembered it just takes 2 pushes of the reg button to register.

This should never happen. It should always work with only one button push. Post your registration so we can take a look at it for you.
