Sometimes a Style has "Free" in its name

Free Styles are ones mostly without a beat and are usually instrumental so you can play freely at your own speed without the timing of a normal style.

They work very well.

Sounds like Free Styles can be used across all Time Signatures. Interestingly, 4/4 is always shown on my PSR 970 when I'm in Free Style.

4/4 is shown on lots of styles that aren't, like 6/8 styles. It's just a Yamaha thing.
