Multipad in registration?

Hello friends! I have FINALLY bitten the bullet and started learning how to use registrations. I have counted my hands, and the number is still the same, only two! As I now use more of the keyboard's features then I did before I see that I can't have my fingers everywhere at the same time. The number of fingers has not increased over the years either. SO, I apologize for being stubborn, friends, and repent! :)

Now the problem: I have ticked for Multipad in the registration, but I don't want it in every slot, just some. Can this be done? I don't seem to get it working. What am I doing wrong?

Another thing, I don't think I dare turn of the T5 tonight, not sure I have saved this registration properly. This is a learning curve for sure....Wish me luck...

Toril,

You can power off any time you want. The keyboard automatically keeps your current registration. Even after a power off/on, if you haven't saved it, the keyboard will remind you if you try to load a new one.

You can easily memorize multipads in one registration, and not others. In fact, this is my modus operendi. I memorize multipads in R1 (where I have checked the Multipad group), and not on the rest (where the Multipad group is not checked when I memorize them).

It's just a matter of ensuring the groups you want memorized are checked, and the ones you don't aren't.

Cheers,

Thanks Fred! First step: I have named it and stored it, powered off and on, and it is unharmed :)
I have watched your YT videos too. So I am on my way to registration land :)

Hello :) I still don't get it to work. Must be doning something wrong.
What I want to do is this: I want the registration to turn on and of multipad 1 as I move through the reg buttons. I have ticked of MP in the box, but the pad stays off untill I press the pad button. I tried memorizing the registration with the pad sounding, but then the keyboard says it can't save while the style is running. So there must be another way?
By the way, I managed to do this with the panel sustain, very happy with that!

You need to have the pad off, but flashing, when you memorize it. Same as memorizing a fill.

To stop a repeating pad, you need to use Padstopper.

Toril
in addition to a multipad stopper, you can also use the keyboard multipad volume turned all the way down to zero for the regs where you do not want the multipad to sound.

You will find out shortly that the pad stopped is a bypass for one of the Biggest flaws in the software design and i have no idea why they are not fixing this

It's for stopping the Multi Pad.
People in the forum have come up with Silent Multi Pads to counter it.

A registration should be able to stop a repeating multipad without using the Padstopper workaround.

Sorry, but I am not getting the reg to turn on and off the multipad as I move thorough the reg buttons. You say, Fred, that the MP must be flashing. But it never does that. It goes on as soon as I press the MP1 button, but the registration does not turn it on, I have to do that manually when playing the song and using the registrations. Maybe this is not possible, as Multipads are MIDI files, not like other panel settings?

The MP flashes when you SyncStart it. Hold down the Sync button (just to the left of the four mp buttons), before you press the pad button.

Once it's flashing, then memorize the registration.

Start with this before moving on to trying to stop a pad.

Sorry for the delayed response and thank you Fred for filling in!

If you assigned a multi PAD to REG3 and then you change to a registration that doesn't have MP registered the Multipad will NOT stop
This is really annoying especially when you transition back to a quieter part of the song, you will have to manually turn off the Pad

Or, memorize Padstopper in the registration.
