Hello friends :)
I have a friend who has a T5 and is considering to buy an E63 to use when traveling. I have no knowledge of the E-series, so I ask you guys/gals if there is any compatibility between the two, for instance, can he use the styles of the T5, or maybe SFF1 styles at least on the E model? I understand that the two keyboards are very different to operate. Any advice will be appreciated :)

Hi Toril,

I suppose you mean the E363?

SFF1 style files can be read by the E363, provided the following requirements are respected:

- The style files must be uploaded from a computer in the flash memory of the keyboard.
- The E363 can accommodate only 10 external styles at once, but a bulk saving of the keyboard flash memory and settings including the 10 external styles can be done, which enables the the player to quickly upload a bunch of ten styles at once.
- The style files must not be larger than 50 Mb each.
- Megavoices, SA voices etc. , will be lost in the process since the E363 can't accomodate them. Style files which are using XG voices and style files made for older keyboards will probably work best.

The best thing to do is to upload and try some of the style files which are available on the PSR Tutorial website and Forum, each file will either be readable by the E363 or not.

Personally, if I were your friend, I would rather go for the PSR E463, the next model up, which is also very portable, but has more Sweet!, Cool! and Dynamic! voices, and can upload external style files from an USB stick, which is more convenient than from a computer.

If your friend can afford it, he could also consider the PSR S670 or even an used PSR S650. They have some Megavoices and can read SFF2 styles.

Lastly, a very important point to consider: by all means, your friend should go to a music shop and play the keyboard he is considering before buying one. Because after all, what matters is whether you enjoy playing your keyboard or not.

Hope this helps,

Regards,

Vinciane
