Cubase hasn't sent their Activation Key for the Trial Version.

Their Website isn't that Simple to use.

I've also had to Download E USB License and Steinberg Download Assistant.
Any Help please.

Hello Norman,

Check this out and scroll all the way down - to the right: https://www.steinberg.net/en/products/steinberg_trial_versions/cubase.html?_sp=ef648fdc-f28b-4f2a-b288-ae1ead1aa98d.1550857315798

You will need a USB E-licenser (I know, it sucks but Steinberg uses that method to deter pirate-copies. Wish there were a better way too.)

If you already have one, then you should be fine. Just call them if the activation code hasn't arrived, or check your Spam folder.

Actually, it depends on which edition he's using. Cubase Elements doesn't require a license dongle; you can use just the eLicenser.

Roland

Thanks Michael, forgot to mention the Elements version. Not sure here what Norman is using at this time :-)

I want
Cubase 10 pro

I've got the Activation key for Elements.

But no Signs for the Pro Version.
I've checked Spam
Even asked them on Twitter.
They Re directed to Supports.
Which didn't help at all.

Hello Norman,

For the Pro version you do need the hardware USB eLicenser. And yes, asking them on a social media platform won't work well - just send them an email once you have the hardware "dongle" and it still doesn't work. I contacted Steinberg support in the past and they have always been very helpful and speedy with their replies.

Cheers, Roland

If you buy a new Pro edition in the box (i.e., a new physical copy, not an update and not the download version), then you should receive a dongle in the box as part of your purchase.

But if you download a trial version, or buy a new copy of the download version, or buy an update to an older version or an upgrade from a lesser edition, then you must either buy a dongle or already own a dongle before you'll be able to activate and use your purchased software. :(

This does seem to be the case according to Steinberg's web site.

So a 'free' 30 day trial of Cubase Pro 10 effectively costs £19 GBP, unless you already are already a Cubase user with an e-licenser dongle!

Seems like a great way to attract new customers!   ??? :'(

While I am not a big fan of the "dongle" approach either - I think it is reasonable to use a more basic version for evaluation - if you had never used Cubase before. And in that case, you don't need the "dongle".

And those folks who have a full / Pro version already - they can evaluate the latest version without having to get the dongle, because they already have one.

So I don't see anything wrong with what Steinberg advertises :-)

What's the Difference between Elements and Pro.

Will it be the same but less stuff.
It could give me a good Preview of The pro version.

It would be like comparing Genos and 770  ;D

I think the same type of dongle MIGHT be used by other companies or products, so the only situation in which the "free trial" of Cubase Pro makes ANY sense would be if you have some other product that uses the same type of dongle. Otherwise, yeah— it's kind of a stupid way to try to entice new users if they can't even use the "free trial" without buying a dongle first.

As for the differences between the available editions of Cubase, see Steinberg's web site:

Dongles are cheap.  It is the easiest way to go and will make Cubase portable so it will run on any machine the you plug the USB dongle into.
