Hi all,

I bought a logitech z623 speaker set for my psr-s750.
Sound is great, good improvement.
But now I want to switch off the internal speakers of the keyboard.
Is there a way to do it in the settings of the S750 (other than plug in a headphone)?

Not that I know of. I used a dead plug for a decade with great success. However, in order to prevent the plug from inadvertently hit and broken, I removed the entire back end of the plug, leaving just a flat area in the keyboard's headphone plug.

Hope this helps,

Hi Aad,

on newer models (starting with S770/970) the internal speakers can be turned off in "UTILITY - CONFIG 2 - SPEAKER" menu (just like Tyros models). But on S750/950 the only way is to plug in a headphone OR a "dummy plug".

You could also use a 6,3 to 3.5 mm adapter plug:

I use an adapter plug like this.

Hi Toril S,

yes, to switch OFF the internal Speakers, such an adapter plug is the easiest way (also on S970).

But IF, for some reason, you want to run both the internal Speakers and simultaneously your headphones, on S970 you can switch the internal function "SPEAKER" (as described above) to "ON". :)

Best regards,
Chris

Thanks for answers.
I'll use a dummy plug to switch them off.

Old thread I know but now that you've had the Logitechs for a few months, how is the sound quality compared to the onboard speakers, especially bass, mids and highs?

Thanks :)

Yes dman68,

I'm still very happy with my speakers.
Allot more power and compared with the internal speaker I find the overall sound is better.
Better bass and clear mids and highs.

Thank you for your reply. I've considered the 623 system and have been juggling between it and a set of powered studio monitors without a sub. It seems the Logitech system would  be the best bang for the buck.
