Go to style creator and press rec for the channel you want to add those +- effects.
Lets say you want add this effect to chord1 of Main A.
So choose rec for chord 1 and let the style play.
While the style is playing, call the mixing concole, choose chord 1 effect(e.g brightness) and use the big wheel right side of your screen to to add +- effects for chord1.

Remember that for adding from -  to + effects the style must play.
You need to be accurate for adding the effect at the right time so do some tests first and start over again.

Normanfernandez

I did get it to work

But the Accuracy has to be Spot on  :'(
I Tried it on the Drum Kit
Thank you.

For accuracy move the wheel accordingly to the tempo of the style.
E.g start from left to right and not from center to left and then to right.
If the tempo is too fast, fisrt slow down the tempo, add the effect and when you get it right,
reset the tempo to the original.

Normanfernandez

You have to delete the data of the original style before Recording
DELETE?

How do I select a Channel??

If you see this message on style creator it means that this channel/part is locked and cannot be edited.
You can apply voice changes and effects but you cannot delete/change/add notes in that part or use the +- effects.
You have to download for free the Style Unlocker program made by Jorgen which can unlock most of these parts of Yamaha's styles.

a)Save the style on the usb as a new style
b)Insert the usb into your pc
c)Open the style unlocker
d)Choose the style
e)Automatically the style unlocker unlocks the parts and now the same style on your usb is  with the parts unlocked.
f)Insert the usb back into your keyboard
g)Go to style creator and add the +- brightness effects to the channel/part you want while the style is playing.

What is Style unlocker

Unfortunately, this is the only method. You must try several times for a descend result.
The other method is a PITS... You have to record a effect moving the slider (or the dial) and then edit the parameters values in program change in SYS/EX for you liking.
The values (if I'm right) begins with the 0 and ends with a 127.... and then the pain begins...
Let say you want to add a moving brightness effect at the start of style for 4 measures.
At 001:01:000 the Program Change value will be 0
At 005:04:1919 (or in the last note in 005:04) the value will be 127.
At 003:01:000 the value with be 64.
Take your time and add or edit the existing values due the time, step by step...
I know, I know...! I say to this a "NO WAY!", but the result will be perfect if you have the patience to do this.
And don't forget to add a program change with the value 0 right after the value 127 if you want to release the effect right after the end of the 4th measure...

Note: I recommend not to try all of this stuff on your onboard style creator. Better choose a software for your computer, like StyleMagic or an alternate program dedicated for this matter.

Yes, but NOT on your keyboard.  You can use StyleMagic Multieditor screen (piano roll)  to insert these kinds of messages.  Brightness, Resonance, Pan, etc, place the messages where you want them... and move them with the mouse if you need to.

This occurs when the dedicated effect must be still active in style/midi file.
Leave the value at 1. In this case the effect is still in place and triggered, but you still hear a "dry" sound instead.
As Joe H says, believe me,  the StyleMagic worth any cent you will pay for this.
Is a time saver software if you want to make quick and precise changes on the fly on you style or midi file, and many others besides that.
IMHO, I can't imagine if anyone's can survive on the onboard Style Creator without this piece of software.

Absolutely, NO!
The only can be damaged is the style you work on.
In that case, you must take a back-up of your style before you make any change on SYS/EX.

Norman,

You can download a demo copy of StyleMagic and test it out to see if its right for you.  The demo program is fully functional but any editing cannot be saved.  The SAVE function is disabled.

You can enter certain MIDI controller 'sweeps' in the latest version of the free 'MixMaster' for PC :  https://psrtutorial.com/MB/mixMaster.html

Here is what page 26 of the MixMaster manual says about this ...

Insert Controller Sweeps
Continuous Up/down ramps of Pans, expression, modulation, volume, brightness, etc, are often encountered in modern music (e.g. dance).
ListView's/Process Events/ Insert Controller Sweep allows selecting creating these anywhere within a file with the slope and values entered by the user.

It seems to work but in my version there is a 'glitch' in the input box on the form where you enter the 'Final Value' for the controller.  You can still use it, but it generates an error when you apply your settings.  However when this happens, if you click on the box, it now contains some text, so just  use your computer's Backspace/Delete keys to empty the box and then enter the value that you want.  It should then work when you press 'OK' on the form.

If Etienne or Michael see this post then I'm sure that they will try to fix it, but I'll email them about it if they don't reply confirming that they are aware of the problem.

Regards

Ian
